What's wrong with lighting up candles?

We would like to forward this question to the authorities. What is wrong with lighting up candles in a smooth and peaceful candlelight vigil to mark our displeasure over the draconian Internal Security Act (ISA) and its law of detention without trial?

From what we had observed, all those participants who came forward to form a very peaceful candlelight vigil came from all walks of life, ordinary people, professionals, bank employees, factory workers, accountants, businessmen, housewives, mothers and the elders.

These are all ordinary Malaysian citizens who are concerned of the well-being of their nation where they are born and grown up. They concerned of the future of their country, they are all concerned of the future of their children, their grandchildren and their next generations to come.

And that is why they were all at the candlelight vigil nationwide yesterday to express their displeasure over the harsh and draconian ISA which must be abolish at all cost.

The authorities, particularly the police and the home ministry are saying that lighting a harmless candlelight in group at night is wrong, while those extremist who uttered racist remarks, coupled with threats to incite racial hatred and unrest to our nation are right.

We do not understand why the police allowed all those "supreme" extremist to act above the law and disallowing peace loving people from initiating gathering for a positive cause.

It shows that the police are definitely taking sides and made use of the name "law and order" to protect their undemocratic and uncivilized actions. They had in fact emulated the Gestapo kind of policing in this country. The Umno-led BN's Fascist regime is now in making in order to enforce and turn our entire nation into a Fascist state so they could remain in power forever.

The authorities uses the "law" to act against the opposition members and the general public when they tried to voice their concerns for our nation and when those Putrajaya-backed extremists tried to challenge the law and order of our nation by inciting racial tensions, hatred and violence to threaten our people, the authorities did nothing but instead allowed them to continue to further destroying the country.

Where is justice? None at all! For the sake of our generations, let us all show BN the exit door when the time comes.
