MPM says abolishing vernacular schools a must

Unfazed by the firestorm of public protests, the Malay Consultative Council (MPM) said it stands by its suggestion that vernacular schools must be abolished at all cost.

Looks like MPM's dislike and hatred towards other communities had came to a maximum level. MPM wanted to vernacular schools to be abolished soonest, that means MPM also wanted the federal constitution to be abolished, MPM wanted the national unity to be disintegrated, MPM wanted the rights of other communities to be abolished, MPM wanted all our rights to be abolished and withdrawn and so on. But, if you are not what we had said, then show us your hands and your heart.

Okay MPM, if you really wanted all these to happen, let us all agree to your plan and do it together! Let us together abolish all race-based political parties, NGOs, institutions, policies, equities, economic structures, bumiputra status, educational quotas, scholarship quotas, government tenders for contractors, your "great" supremacist orders, no more special rights or provisions applied to only one race, enact the Race Relations Act to outlaw racism, extremism and finally amend the federal constitution immediately to accord all Malaysians equal rights in all the above statures and unite all our various communities into one, that is a Malaysian Malaysia - a Malaysia that belongs to all Malaysians, a Very Just and Fair nation call Malaysia for all.

We want to ask MPM, can they really work with us to achieve this wonderful and beautiful dream so that one day all of us Malaysians would no longer see or look at each other as one race or another? Can or is MPM really sincere in helping all of us to achieve all these?

You wanted all our community based entities to be abolished in the name of Malaysia, as such you must start the ball rolling and play your roll well. The MPM must set themselves as an example to all Malaysians to follow by doing the same as they proposed.

The MPM really need to prove to us their sincere efforts by taking the lead at their side first before they urge others to do it. Therefore, please walk the talk!

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

No action against YBs without speaker's consent

Penang assembly Speaker Law Choo Kiang said the police and attorney-general (AG) cannot prosecute any elected representatives for any wrongdoings committed in the House. Law said the authorities cannot act on the assemblypersons without the agreement of the speaker. "So this clearly cancels the (planned) charge against Seri Delima assemblyperson RSN Rayer for sedition under the 1948 Sedition Act," the PKR Bukit Tambun assemblyperson said in a statement yesterday. Law said a warning based on the assembly's standing orders has been issued to Rayer not to repeat the remark "Umno celaka" (damned Umno), which the latter allegedly uttered in the House on May 20.
