BN lost, but continue its blame on DAP
The Sarawak BN's lost in the Sibu parliamentary by-election is seen as a grieve setback to its component and participating party, the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP). Until then, the leaders of SUPP had refused to concede defeat even at the final hour before the announcement of the results were out last night.
Well the announcement has been made anyway and it said DAP had won and BN lost. The BN and SUPP leaders were disappointed, the deputy prime minister dumped the BN candidate Robert Lau and flew back to Putrajaya even before the results were known, because he already knew, the vote had already swing in favour of DAP.
However, the BN leaders are still in a denial mode. They refused to accept the fact that their defeat shows that they are no longer "powerful" in Sarawak after decades of manipulation of the people's human rights there.
The BN leaders in Sarawak denied that they had lost their ground, but instead blamed DAP and Pakatan Rakyat because they exposed the controversial Allah and the burning of Al-Kitab bibles by the Umno-led home affairs ministry.
The BN leaders continuously blamed the DAP and Pakatan for harping on racial and religious issues. What harping? The DAP and Pakatan leaders were merely stating the facts and telling the people the truth, the very truth and nothing but the truth.
Why did the DAP and Pakatan leaders told the people about the facts and truth? Because the mainstream medias did not tell all. The traditional newspapers too did not tell the people what had really happened all this while.
Therefore, it is the responsibilities of the DAP and Pakatan leaders to expose all the wrongdoings of the state and federal BN administrations. Not only racial and religious issues, issues related to the lands belonging to the Dayak and Iban communities been forcefully taken away for the expansion of the BN's timber business, stateless people whose birth were proven but denied their citizenship for decades (some only got their Mykads presented to them by the home affairs minister during the BN elections campaign), forced evacuation of the people from their homes and farmlands and so on.
Then as usual BN claimed to "come to the rescue" of the people, tonnes of cash were brought in fron Bank Negara to bribe the people with their alleged "development", Mykads and citizenship where awarded to many elderly people (they had already spend almost 90% of their lives being stateless. Why they were not care of when they were young???), promising more business and job opportunities and a final push to open the people's eyes with an RM5 million cash offer.
With all these, it clearly demonstrates that the BN is insincere in handling out their "gifts" to the people. Why only when election comes, they start giving out this and offering that to the people? When there is no election, no such offer were given, no development, no incentives, no cash, no assistance and no allocations for the benefit of the people.
The people of Sibu had awaken. The people of Sibu had directly send a message to the Sarawak BN "timber" state government that they no longer dominate the state and the BN is now subject to their scrutiny.
That is why the BN "timber" leaders are now postponing the state elections to the very end of their term next year. They are afraid of losing their powers and did not have the confidence of facing the people and the electorate.
