Penang Umno's threat of a May 13 riot an act of terrorism

The Penang Umno secretary who is also the Umno's state assembly opposition leader Datuk Azhar Ibrahim today made a threat at the state assembly sitting saying that the May 13 racial riots could erupt again if the people continue to lose their confidence on the police force.

Yes, we all had already lost confidence on the credibility of the police force. So, that is why, when the police are no more to be seen in the streets, Umno would want to take this opportunity to start and repeat the May 13 racial riots in order to kill their rivals and political opponents as well as the opposition supporters, burning down cities and towns as well as to carry out their so-called "ethnic cleansing.

And this is what Umno had wanted to do all these while. To instill fear and hatred so they can become a powerful supreme draconian lord over others. Umno and its leaders are indeed terrorist and a threat to our nation's public security.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

No action against YBs without speaker's consent

Penang assembly Speaker Law Choo Kiang said the police and attorney-general (AG) cannot prosecute any elected representatives for any wrongdoings committed in the House. Law said the authorities cannot act on the assemblypersons without the agreement of the speaker. "So this clearly cancels the (planned) charge against Seri Delima assemblyperson RSN Rayer for sedition under the 1948 Sedition Act," the PKR Bukit Tambun assemblyperson said in a statement yesterday. Law said a warning based on the assembly's standing orders has been issued to Rayer not to repeat the remark "Umno celaka" (damned Umno), which the latter allegedly uttered in the House on May 20.
