Peaceful gathering cannot, but violent protests allowed and encouraged

Last week university students held a peaceful gathering at the to protest the use of the doubtful e-voting system which is to be carried out in campus elections by the ministry of higher education were arrested by the police and thrown into the lock up reasoning security is under threat.

The gathering was peaceful with only one banner held calling on the ministry officials and university authorities to review the doubtful e-voting system which is not transparent and could lead to cheating and fraud. The higher education ministry and the university authorities are too arrogant to see these students and review policies with the student representative council via democratic and consultation process.

And that is why they called the police to avenge their anger on the students representatives for calling on more democratic channel to be implemented in the campuses.

But when some radical and extremist muslim groups tying to disrupt peace and religious harmony in this country by provoking anger and promoting hatred, the home minister said they cannot stop these barbarians and hooligans as these are their right to do so. As the result, many churches were bombed and even burned down.

Is this not violent and more a threat to the national security? These extremists and terrorists are developing and using some sort of weapons to threaten and harm people by burning and bombing places of worship.

When people organized peaceful gatherings and candle light vigils to express our sympathy, sadness and sorrow over the murder of Teoh Beng Hock by the cowardice MACC officers, the police are quick to arrive in battalions armed with machine guns to arrest all these innocent people and have all of them thrown into cells which were reserved for violent criminals.

Looks like Malaysia is slowly turning into a Nazi police state. Justice and equality are nowhere to be seen anymore in our nation. Democracy, justice, equality and freedom are gravely declining, while dictatorship is in working. Can we, as Malaysians do something quickly to address the current declining situation in our nation?

Otherwise, our children, grandchildren and generations to come will blame and hate us for the future that will come to them once we leave.
