I love my country, did the rulers appreciate us?

Malaysia is the country where I was born, being brought up and this is also where I received my education. I love my country because this is where I belong. As a Malaysian who love this country, I carry on with my responsibilities as a voter to cast my ballot papers in every general elections, I acted as a responsible citizen to ensure democracy in our country is well and alive, pay my taxes promptly to the government in my hope that with this funds in hand, the federal government will continue to develop the country into one of the best.

But what we have today, what I saw today were the other way round. I was once a member and supporter of a political party that once rule the Penang state emphasizing its Bangsa Malaysia, Anak Malaysia concepts and claiming to be championing a non-racial approach towards policies and implementations. The party which I had previously joined and supported did not adhere by its own objectives nor stand by its principles. It became too subservient to a race-based party which is currently a dominant partner in the ruling coalition at the federal level.

The said race-based party had turned from a friendly, accommodating and secular one to an extremist, radical and violent today. They raised their supremacist jargons over their coalition partners, made them their political slaves, insisting that they "kow tow" to all their policies and instructions and anything that have to do with equality will be subject to "as derhaka or treason". No one is allowed to question the legality and validity of their supremacist policies.

After decades and years of being a Malaysian, I together with my families, friends, colleagues and buddies were suddenly being labeled as "pendatang" in the country which we regard most as a home. We were suddenly treated as outsiders and second class citizens and they even threatened to chase us out if we were to question them about justice, democracy, freedom and equality.

We love our country, but the ruling elites of the country had indeed abandoned us to an extend that just because we are all "pendatang" in order to satisfy the lust and their power hunger party warlords. They even threatened bloodshed on us if we were to stand up against their injustice and inhuman policies. Today they bomb our churches and who would be their next target?

I am now living in fear and worry, not because we are afraid of those barbarians and terrorists, but we are all worry sick about what will happen to our children and grandchildren when they grow up in the coming future.

If they were to suffer in the hands of these extremists, radicals and terrorists in the future, we are to be blamed entirely because we did not do enough to seek more rooms for justice, democracy, freedom and equality in this country which we love so much.

As such, this is the time everyone should realize not only for themselves but for our future generations to come to crossover massively and vote against them to make effect the changes that we wanted to see for our country.

If we love our country and these rulers don't, it is not a destiny! We can make these changes effectively by fully participating in making your marks available at the ballot boxes nationwide. Make it come through when the day comes.

The destiny of our country is in our hands.
