Humanity and equality
In Malaysia, do we actually have humanity or equality, politically, democratically, rightfully in a just environment? Of course, most of us would say yes without thinking and analyzing the question deeper to gain a bigger picture into this subject.
Well, to find out more about this, let us start off with something basic first. Our country called Malaysia is a nation rule by a constitutional monarchy which we would address his majesty as Yang Di Pertuan Agong or the King. The King is elected for a five year term by a Council of Rulers (Majlis Raja-raja) which consists of Sultans and Governors (Yang Di Pertua Negeri) who overseas their respective states under the guidance of their menteris besar and chief ministers.
In accordance to the federal and state constitutions, the King, Sultans and Governors acts on advice of their respective states’ menteris besar and chief ministers. Therefore, the role of the King, Sultans and Governors are mere constitutional, whereas the menteris besar and chief ministers are chief executives of their respective state governments.
In other words, what is being or will be carried out by the King, Sultans and Governors are always subject to the advice and consultations from the state executive councils chaired and lead by the respective menteris besar and chief ministers. The King, Sultans and Governors therefore, cannot act on their own and beyond the constitutional requirements of the nation and the states.
The second and foremost subject here is, our humanity and equality is guaranteed in the federal and state constitutions and no one can deny the said provisions in the constitutions. If someone were to state otherwise, we will not elaborate the provisions in respond but will instead ask the person to go to any bookshop he thinks fit and get a latest edition of the federal constitution. We will urge them to read it aloud in public. There is no point arguing with this “people” who are confused. They should analyze it on their own and let us know of their analytical results once they read it in public.
So let us come to a real sense of question. Are the King, Sultans and Governors human beings? How are they born? Do they look like humans or do they have some supernatural powers like superman, spider man, sandman or the fantastic 4 buddies? Just take up all these questions and match on of what you are looking at them and how do you see them as.
There’s only one answer if a person of wisdom knows. Yes, the King, Sultans and Governors are all human beings. Ordinary human beings just like all of us. As human beings, we are all standing as equal and possessed a humanistic nature isn’t it so?
As human beings of equal stands, we develop as we grow, we learn and continuously learn from the facts of life, we make mistakes and we realize them by correcting positively, we accept constructive criticisms from various quarters of life in order to develop and improve our life almost daily. This the way of life which we cannot deny it.
In humanity and equality, we strongly believed that every religion and beliefs like Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Sikhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Bahai and Judaism also emphasize on these two subjects and it is part of their teaching and way of life.
We also strongly believed that every religion and beliefs like Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Sikhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Bahai and Judaism do not believe in Supremacy or Ketuanan onto other religions, race or whatever exist in life. These religions taught us to face the facts and conduct the way of life to attain purity in mind and in whatever we are doing.
But in our country today, we see humanity and equality has been ruined by a race-based political party for more than 50 years now. Divide and rule are their core values in order to maintain their control and power over the country. They reigned supreme over the other religions and ethnics and what they claimed is their supremacy has been “written” in the constitution and their so-called religious court of law. Until today, they have yet to prove the validity of their claim of supremacy which has been “written” in the constitution and their so-called religious court of law. Instead they had continued to raise their voice, took to the streets and threatened our population with bloodshed in order to divert our attention from the actual analysis into the current situation.
Like we said earlier, every human being in order to move on and develop ourselves, we frequently commit mistakes and from mistakes we learn to accept it, learn from it and move on. Yes, the King, Sultans and Governors are all human beings too. Are you going to deny that? No because they all do not possess supernatural powers like superman, spider man, sandman or the fantastic 4 superheros.
Therefore, the King, Sultans and Governors do make mistakes too in their lives. During the constitutional crisis, the then prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad amended the federal constitution to reduce the power of the King and Sultans to pave way for an effective executive role in governance. Did you know why? Because the Sultans repeated their mistakes. And Umno openly and fully supported Dr Mahathir’s move to implement the power cut on the Sultans. No one dare question Mahathir’s action at that time.
But when DAP Chairman and Bukit Gelugor MP Karpal Singh questioned and criticized the Sultan of Perak who mistakenly accepted the formation of the Perak Umno Rebel State Government in aftermath of the coup d’etat launched by Umno to topple the legitimate State Government, he was branded as a “penderhaka” and seditious by Umno for going against the supremacist establishment of the state. First of all does supremacy exist in any of the state or even the federal constitutions? The fact is no.
The supremacist and ketuanan are only politically racist jargons used by Umno to expound their political one-race rule over the entire nation. Therefore, supremacist and ketuanan are deemed unlawful and unconstitutional.
During the French Revolution in the ancient Europe, King Louis was toppled by the people and executed in public because he went against the constitution of the country. King Louis was executed because he repeatedly committed his mistakes by ignoring the constitution and insisting a dictatorship of Royalty and Lordships on the French soil.
The Emperor of China was toppled in 1911 revolution because the Royalty was corrupt and moving the entire country towards chaos. The King (Shah) of Iran was overthrown in an Islamic revolution because of his continuous ignorance to the people’s plight and looting of the country’s wealth and natural resources. Even kings and rulers in the Arab continents were frequently overthrown because of their misdeeds against the will of their people. The Divine Emperor of Japan was subdued by US General Douglas MacArthur after the Second World War and the US occupation of Japan.
So, what are emperors, kings, sultans or rulers, they are human beings just like all of us. Normal human being who have to face daily facts of life. This is call humanity and equality.
Those who continuously ignore humanity and equality are the ones who are afraid of losing their powers, status, positions, wealth, riches and their opportunities to swindle the nation. In order to preserve what they have today, they continue to confuse the people and promote violence so the people would be fear of changes and dare not speak up.
Therefore, let us all together, standing as one reject all those who are against humanity and equality.
