Another church attacked, IGP said churches must set up their own security

Terrorists attempted to set fire to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church here, causing minor damage to the building, the fourth Klang Valley Christian church attacked over two days.

Church authorities said the building in Petaling Jaya Old Town was believed to be firebombed sometime between last night and this morning.

“The fire-bomb missed a window and caused minor damage,” said Rev Dr Hermen Shastri, the general-secretary of the Council of Churches, Malaysia.

And after that, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan urged all churches to beef up security on their own because with its limited manpower the police cannot ensure security at all houses of worship.

Just exactly Tan Sri Musa is trying to tell us? He said the police manpower is limited and he cannot provide total security for the churches to prevent them from being attacked.

But he has enough and a lot of manpower nationwide to curb the activities of the opposition Pakatan Rakyat and their leaders. This is clearly a total discrimination in security provision.

Why can't you mobilise thousands of special branch personnel currently doing nothing at their office to provide round the clock security? Is politics more important than the security and safety of our people? Is protecting Umno more important than protecting the lives of our people?

This is disgusting! Very, very disgusting! If the police force cannot provide security to our people, then disband the entire force and replace it with a new and credible security force.
