Stop Politicizing Religion And Accept the Facts !

Can all political leaders including the prime minister himself, all his cabinet ministers and civil servants stop politicizing religion and acting like God or Allah? Can political leaders concentrate and focus only on the running the daily affairs of the country while the civil service should professionally focus mainly on the nation's administration and policies laid down by the government of the day?

Let the religious people handle their religions and liaison amongst themselves. These religious leaders are considered expert in their respective religions and they are the one's who should dictate policies and procedures in regards to the religions that they are appointed or elected to take charge. Politicians should not interfere on religious matters and religions would be politicized from bad to worst, because all religious matters and issues related to inter-religious conflict, liaison and so on are case sensitive and they need to be handled as careful and cautious as possible by those who are really expect on this.

The other one is, religion should not be institutionalized as part of the government department or agency. All religions are personal to whoever believes in his or her preferred religion and religious practices should be held behind close doors. All religions and their religious leaders should therefore come together in a combined consultative council and meet as regular as possible to resolve any matters arised, issues or conflicts in a most harmonious condition without the need to issue any warning, hating anyone, becoming angry, street demonstration and so on.

Matters related to religions are very complex and complicated. Let the Imams, Bishops, Monks, Priest and all those who are well-versed and recognized publicly handle the inter-religious matters in accordance spiritually and with wisdom. The good example is Malaysian Consultative Council Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) who had worked so well among themselves for so many years. With MCCBCHST working together spiritually, there are no political interference until today, nor any conflict made to worst.

But, what have you seen in the Jabatan Kemajuan Islam (JAKIM) and all those state-level religious councils or department are all otherwise. There is no harmony, understanding, tolerance nor any patience at all. Almost everyday, you could see politicians and their so-called experts issuing statements here and there, giving some particular stern warning to others, issuing threats and organizing demonstration reasoning that this particular religion is being under threat. Why is it only happening only to this religion? Because this religion has been institutionalized and made an official religion of this country. That is why this religion is always being politicized for nothing, thus provoking the entire situation into a street demonstration or protests.

Take for instance, the word Allah. It is so havoc now as it has been so politicized. As we all known the word Allah came from an Arabic word which means God. It is very clear that the word is a translation from the word God into Arabic language, which is Allah. There are no difference at all between Allah and the God. It is the same, one is Arabic, while the other is in English. Same goes to the Chinese, French, Spanish or Korean. Each of these languages have their own translation to the word God.

And we all cannot deny that there are Arabs who are Christians as well. So their bibles are all written in Arabic, thus the word Allah is also included in their holy books. So does the Christian bibles in Indonesia, Eastern States of Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak). Apart from that, the word Allah is also being used in the Sikh holy books and some religious hymns at the Hindu side.

In this case, after such discoveries, what is the BN government going to do now? Ban Sikhism and Hinduism from Malaysia? Are you going to do that? Maybe some BN leaders may say they could do it, because these two religions are mere minorities, but even if that so, you will see much conflict, arguments and protests would arise if you were to try doing it (banning Sikhism and Hinduism in Malaysia).

Christians today still remember how this BN government took away their holy bibles for months and then have them defaced upon release to the Church authorities. The Christians handled such matter with much tolerance and nothing bad has ever happened because it didn't turn out into a conflict.

Same goes to what had happened to Buddhism. When the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM) wanted to develop the Puzhao Buddhist Temple in Kluang, Johor  in 1986, and when the construction was to commence in 1991, the Johor state government under Umno dominated BN then decided to ban the temple construction project, citing national security reasons.

Then, when the 12th general election is approaching in the year 2008, the Johor state government's ban on Puzhao Buddhist Temple was suddenly lifted but imposed about some illogical conditions prior to allowing the project to resume i.e. the temple cannot hold its religious ceremonies, the temple cannot have any Buddha statues, what the hell are all these restrictions? Can you have a temple without all these religious materials? If so, will there be a temple in the first place? But the Buddhist communities and associations there remained tolerant and patient in facing such destructive Umno policies.

Can we all imagine, what would terribly happen if such thing were to happen to Islam? Maybe two quarter of this world turn upside down. Just look at some petty issues and challenges, it had always been ended up in violence, demonstrations, war and killing in many parts of the world. They would never stop shouting and killing until they are all exhausted or ran out of ammunitions.

Why are these all happening? The answers are already written herein, that is Politicization of Religion. If religion has not been politicized, such thing would not be happening today.

Accept the facts, Stop Politicizing Religion and You will have Peace and Harmonious Environment in every neighbourhood and communities. Make religion your personal resolution, practice it in spiritual, adopt the teachings in wisdom and treat all beings equally.
