Election system not dirty, just incomplete?

Recently, the former chairman of the Elections Commission (EC) Datuk Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman defended the country's electoral system denying that it is dirty but admitted that the electoral rolls were merely incomplete.

We think that Datuk Rashid was not even aware of what had happened and what is currently happening in the EC and its managed electoral lists nationwide. It was during his tenure, our nation's electoral lists were the dirtiest but have been kept in secret without any expose.

If the electoral lists are not dirty, how come voters' names came up in duplicate, some in the same constituency and while the others appeared in different constituencies? Apart from that, dead voters, voters with ages of between 110 to 130 years old are also found to be still existing in the electoral lists despite the impossible life span of anyone nowadays. If there are, maybe only two or three centenarians could be found but not to an extend of too many in number.

Asides, there are also cases of voters names being transferred or carried around from one constituency to another constituency without the knowledge of the voters themselves. This means, the voters did not applied for any change of their voting district, nor the EC informing them of the intended changes. Until today, the EC had failed to explain to the people why are these still happening despite confirmation from voters that they had never apply for any changes since day one.

In this case, can Datuk Rashid explain all these kind of "incomplete" scenario in the EC? Can this guy also explain what had taken place and conspire during his tenure as EC chairman? Certainly, he would just wash his hands by saying that during his tenure in the EC, nothing had happened and it is clean, only now it is just a matter of "incomplete" instead of the much reported as "dirty".

One simple advice to Datuk Rashid, if you have not done a good job in the past and you are now sitting in retirement, just Shut Up and let others do the cleaning now! There's no point for you to voice your opinion as you are already in the cold storage and no one would even view your comments right now. You are just a product of the past dictatorship. Rest In Peace!
