Terrorists attempting to create chaos in Penang

An effigy of Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng was set alight today by a group of protestors from three Malay NGOs, during a demonstration against what the group claims were discriminatory practices by the local administration.

The Penang Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMPP), National Malay Students Federation (GPMS) and Perkasa, the organisers for the protest and are also Umno-link organizations had gathered their supporters and members at a nearby mosque prior to Friday prayers and proceeded to the state government offices housed in the Komtar building shortly after, in an attempt to deliver a memorandum of protest to Lim.

After arriving at their destination, the three groups were unable to secure a meeting with the chief minister, prompting them to torch an effigy of Lim, which they had brought along, chanting racist and hate slogans.

These groups of terrorists are clearly showing their attempt to create chaos in Penang by showing off their hate and violent acts towards the State Government and the people of Penang.

Because of these demonstrations, businesses and traffic in Georgetown had came to a stand still and many had closed their shops and business premises to avoid destruction and scores of tourists left the island after the violence were reported.

Because of these irresponsible terror groups, our people are now suffering, their businesses also suffer and so does the workers in the city. Besides, it also scares away tourist from the island and due to this tourist operators and guide also suffered severe losses.

Is Umno attempting to topple the Penang State Government? After what they had done to Perak, attempting another in Selangor and because of their impatience, they now wanted to target Penang as well.

Why? Why? Umno, DPMPP, GPMS and Perkasa had always want to hate, hate, hate and nothing else but hate? What benefit will they be able to gain by putting hatred as their top agenda? Why can't they behave and act like civilized human beings.

Today they burn only an effigy, what about tomorrow? Will they start burning the entire nation in near future, just because they wanted their hatred to be heard and noticed?

And those police and FRU personnel were just standing there like dumbbells doing nothing but just watching the violence and hatred growing.

Is this justice?

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Singapore Malay daily teaches Mahathir about hardwork

The former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assumption that Malays in Singapore had failed and their neighbouring Malays should take lesson from their plight has not impressed a Singaporean daily.
