Coup attempt failed. Zahid's call for royal commission on Penang, a stupid idea

Penang Umno today suggested the setting up of a royal commission to study the feasibility of a Penang Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state government.

Its state liaison chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said the commission was suitable as the opposition coalition was always calling for a commission to investigate the Barisan Nasional (BN) federal government’s weaknesses.

It is clear that Zahid and his fellows in Umno wanted revenge and he is so childish and foolish to suggest that since PR had always call for royal commissions to investigate BN, they also wanted to call for a royal commission to investigate the Penang PR state government on its position.

The difference are the BN federal government led by Umno is full of scandal not weaknesses as claimed by Zahid. BN's scandal all dominated by Umno are the V.K. Lingam scandal, the PKFZ scandal, the F-5E theft scandal, the Defense secrets leaks scandal, the Teoh Beng Hock murder scandal and a lot more which in fact outnumbered scandals of neighboring countries and the other continents in the world.

With all these scandals in hand, the Umno-led BN federal government is trying their best to cover up as much as possible in order not to implicate their top leaders and some retired statesmen. To cover up their many scandals, they used draconian laws such as ISA, Sedition Act, Police Act and the Official Secrets Act to shut those who reported them and who had voice them up in public for justice.

What kind of feasibility of a Penang Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state government did Zahid tried to mean? Did the state government have any crisis in hand? Did the state government had any scandals in hand? No, not at all. All the demonstrations, hate and violence brought onto the streets in Penang last week was created by Umno politically in order to topple the PR-led administration.

They wanted to create a revolt, rebellion and riot in Penang to enable the Umno-led BN federal government to declare a state of emergency in Penang so that the federal troops will be mobilized to take control of the state in the name of national security and to suspend the PR-led state government

Upon retaking Penang in pretext of a state of emergency, the Umno-led BN federal government will then establish an interim state administration to rule the state of which Umno will then take over. Then the "deposed PR state government" will be blamed for losing control of the situation in the state by all Umno link mainstream medias and newspapers.

The fact that is the Penang Umno liaison chairman is also the nation's defense minister who have in his hand the nation's armed forces. He had in his hand the powerful army intelligence, the naval intelligence and the air force intelligence at his disposal.

And when an attempt revolt, rebellion and riots organized by its sponsored NGOs failed to materialized, he then tried to cover up his plans by calling for a royal commission to study the feasibility of a Penang Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state government.

Yeah, a good political motive but a stupid reaction.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Federal Constitution that Safeguards the Legitimate Rights and Interest of All Malaysians

The provisions of the Federal Constitution are very clear. It confirmed the position of the Malay Rulers, Islam as an official religion of the federation and special position of the Malays and the natives in Sabah and Sarawak whilst recalling that those provisions balance those special positions with safeguards to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the other communities in Malaysia which also includes their right to profess and practice their religions freely without being fear of any threats or being harmed by anybody. The legitimate interests of the non-Malays and non-Muslims would include, amongst others: a) Article 153 (9) says that business or trade cannot be solely reserved only for the Malays, b) Article 3 (1) says that the official religion of the federation is Islam BUT other religions are also allowed to be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the federation.
