My Chinese New Year Wishes

I wish all my families, friends, comrades, colleagues and readers a Very Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai in welcoming the Year of Tiger. The former year is going away and the new one is coming this midnight.

Ever since after the 8 March 2008 general elections, we had seen numerous changes and challenges from both sides in our nation's politics. Injustice and political persecution are the two main factors that still contributed to our nation's instability and uncertain economic future.

Almost everyday, we pray and make many wishes hoping our country that we love to become a better place to live but as days past, certain political, racial and religious extremists are out there trying to destroy our beloved nation in order to serve their own interest.

As the Chinese Lunar New Year is approaching this midnight, here are my wishes for the our people and the entire nation:
  1. To continue our calls for the establishment of an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC).
  2. To continue our calls for the establishment of an Independent Judiciary Commission (IJC) to replace the current ineffective Judiciary Appointment Commission (JAC).
  3. To continue our calls for the estalishment of an Independent Inter-Faith Commission (IIFC) in order to promote religious and racial harmony as well as national unity.
  4. To continue our calls for Religious and Race Relations Act to curb religious and racial extremism as well as to check on misuse of religion and race to advance one's political motive.
  5. To continue our calls for the replacement of the Police Act with a new and effective Public Security Act in order to curb power abuses and promote human rights in the nation's security forces.
  6. To call for the complete disbandment of the United Malays National Organization (Umno) - the race-based political party seen as threatening the national unity and public security of our nation.
  7. To continue our calls to the international community to impose international sanctions on Umno and its sponsored non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for their continuous racist attacks and threats against other Malaysians.
  8. To call for a revamp in the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) and its governing law in order to have it accountable to the parliament.
  9. To continue our calls to have an efficient official from the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) to be seconded to the MACC as the new Chief Commissioner.
  10. To call for the Umno-inspired Sodomy II charges against Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be dropped immediately.
  11. To continue our calls to have our Federal Constitution amended in order to enforce our nation as a secular state and outlaw a one race and religious domination over others.
  12. To continue repeating our calls for the disbandment of the Perak Umno rebel state government and dissolution of the state legislative assembly in order to pave way for a fresh state elections.
  13. To continue repeating our statements that the Perak Umno rebel state government who seized power in February 2009 is an illegal state administration who obtained power via rebellion.
  14. To continue repeating our statements that we do not recognize the Perak Umno rebel state government as a legal entity of the administration of the Perak state.
  15. To call for an end of another attempted coup d'etats initiated by Umno against the state governments of Selangor and Penang as well as to condemn the coup plotters for their undemocratic moves.
Even if some of the above wishes are quite impossible at this moment, let us continue to pray that our wishes will be fulfilled one day not only for me, you or someone else but for the sake of the entire nation and our people as a whole.

Once again, Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai.
