MCCM meeting with Guan Eng. PMCC angry for not being informed by parent body

The Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (MCCM) had send a delegation led by its deputy president Datuk Muhammad Muhiyuddin Abdullah to meet Penang Chief Minister and DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng recently to discuss on the allegations that the state government was biased against Malay traders.

In the meet, the MCCM delegation was briefed on the state government policies pertaining to the licensing to the traders and MCCM was also given the statistics that showed the state was not being unfair to the Malays in Penang.

Besides, the state government also gave MCCM on the statistics of the state's contracts being awarded via open tender from 2008 right up to 2009 which saw some 88% were given to Malay based companies.

However, the Penang Malay Chamber of Commerce (PMCC) leaders who led the last Friday's violent and hate demonstrations at Komtar against the Penang state government were not happy that their federal chamber had decided to talk to the state government on their own.

Yes, MCCM was doing the right thing. PMCC has no right to interfere because they had already brought their so-called "grievances" violently into the streets last week, with shouts, threats and racist jargon, coupled with burning of effigies of the Chief Minister.

The Penang state government only deals with civilized and reasonable people who demonstrates their maturity and professionalism. The Penang state government does not deal with those who were out there trying to act violently, promoting hatred onto other races and citing racism as their core subject and instigating others to riot.

What PMCC did last Friday was political motivated and influenced by Umno. Does PMCC really serves and protects the interest of the Malay traders or only for the Umno traders?

We al know that. Do not think that we are fools and can be fooled around. PMCC is being stupid on this.
