BN wants change too, says Najib. Really?
The chairman of Barisan Nasional (BN) Datuk Najib Razak had said that the ruling BN coalition was as eager as its opponent Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to change but he stressed that the change that BN was seeking was from within.
Really? How have you change from within when you were the prime minister all this while? BN wanted to change but the biggest problem here is, the dominant component party under your leadership, Umno has refused any changes all the time. Umno endorse racism against Malaysians, Umno endorse Perkasa against Malaysians, Umno endorse violence, Umno endorse threat, Umno endorse mismanagement, Umno endorse corruption, Umno endorse power abuse, Umno endorse politics of divide and rule in order to continue its undemocratic method of rule and many more negative elements.
So, has Umno change in actual fact? If Umno has really change, where are the freedom and democratic space of which our people are suppose to enjoy? In the current elections campaign, Umno and BN has been using and monopolizing the mainstream media channels to condemn the opposition parties for 24 hours non-stop and will enjoy the same during the two-week campaigning period, and only provided the opposition with a mere 10-minute broadcasting in 14 days. So, is this called change?
On the eve of nomination day, Umno and BN has finally endorse Perkasa by nominating the extremist group's vice-chairman to contest in a Selangor parliamentary seat under the BN's banner. So, is this called change as well?
In fact, there are no changes at all but merely lies. And, right now, they are also using the divide and rule campaigning tactic to woo our nation's multiracial voters. They are now displaying 1Malaysia flags and banners in Chinese majority areas in order to woo the community in a different way, while for the Malay majority areas, they are displaying the traditional BN flags and banners as usual.
During the BN's campaign rounds nationwide, Umno is going around telling the Malays that if PR were to come to power, DAP would dominate the new government and turn this nation of ours into a Christian republic, while for MCA, they would go round the country telling the Chinese community the other way round, if PR were to come to power, PAS would dominate the new government and turn this nation into an Islamic state and the Islamic Hudud law would be enforced onto everyone of us. So, are these all called change as well?
For more than 55 years of BN rule, until to the very last day of the 12th parliament, when BN was still the majority, the race-based politics are still being practically used by not only Umno itself, but also MCA and MIC. In the BN coalition itself, there are still no efforts at all in working towards expounding the concept of Malaysian in this country, in order to foster a closer one-identity onto our multiracial communities. The structures of governance, policies and implementations are still very much a race-based rather than Malaysian. The real challenge here is we are not able to identify ourselves as Malaysians when we are in our home country but we are only able to do so, when we are travelling, working or studying abroad. So, is this called change?
Furthermore, our people's outright demand for electoral reform. What we are seeing now is delays, delays and even more delays. Malaysians abroad are said to be able to register and vote, but what they have been enduring out there, the Malaysian embassies and high commissions abroad has not being cooperative when they were being approach by overseas Malaysians. Instead, they were been given a run around, from one end to another, giving lame excuses, no responding to inquiries and worst still, treated like enemies of our own nation. Are these all called changes?
Then, about the electoral lists nationwide. There are still so many doubts about the existence of phantom voters, duplicate voters, dubious voters, problematic voters, fake voters and many more kinds of negative elements within the Elections Commission (EC). What steps has the BN government taken to change from within on such problem? But instead, EC officials are getting more arrogant towards the people. Again, is this called change?

Giving out cash in many kinds of 1Malaysia brand and schemes by using the various source public funds in order to fish for votes and give our people "temporary happiness", where in the end our nation's Treasury (Perbendaharaan) would end up empty because of this. What are there to be happy of? Inflation is now on the rise; subsidies to many kinds of consumable products were being withdrawn; highway tolls are being increased; corruption, power abuse and mismanagement within the government had also increased, and those "big fish" are still roaming so freely out there like nobody's business. Are these called changes?
There is no point for Najib to talk about changes from within because there is no such thing of change from within when they have been ruling for more than 55 years now with the same old negative culture and elements which are benefiting their entire political downline so effective. So, do you think Umno or BN will really change from within by cutting off the benefits of all these political downlines? Impossible, indeed impossible for them to do so.
In this case, it is our people who are suppose to come out in full force to vote for the real change.
