CSL, why not you sort this out personally?
The MCA president Chua Soi Lek has been busy complaining and grumbling here and there recently about the Opposition parties' plan to "storm" the state of Johor in the coming 13th general elections (GE13). One big fuss that Chua has been making these few weeks was a top Opposition leader's plan to shift from his power base and stronghold to the state in order to lead the charge in what we saw as "the BN fortress" in the southern state.
Apart from complaining, Chua has even offered the controversial parliamentary seat which has been traditionally held by MCA for decades to the outgoing Johor menteri besar to contest citing that the Umno leader would be the best choice due to his "credibility" and "winnable" status.
We want to ask Chua about this. Is MCA itself running out of credible and winnable candidates? Has Chua directly admitted that he as the president of MCA is also not a credible nor a winnable leader to take on that top Opposition leader? If Chua has openly demonstrate that he is not a credible nor a winnable leader, why is he still staying on as MCA president and running up here and there campaigning for the party but in the end gain nothing out of it?
Chua, if you think that MCA is strong enough, then forward your demand to the BN chairman and prime minister Najib Razak asking him to let you contest against the top opposition leader which is vying south to break the so-called "BN fortress". You should sort this out personally if you want to prove that you are the most credible and winnable president of MCA in the history. Do not make too much fuss onto this matter and then pushing the buck to others (Umno) to handle.
Show to the Malaysian Chinese community that MCA is still relevant today and the party leaders are brave enough to challenge the Opposition leaders face to face in the GE13 contest. Is Chua brave enough to tell of Najib that, "enough is enough, Umno should stay out of this fight and let MCA deal it personally once and for all"?
Chua, we knew that you have a strong character when you are dealing with the Opposition leaders, but you have yet to prove your effectiveness in dealing with those issues directly face to face with the Opposition leaders. Yes, we knew you had debated with the Penang chief minister on some policy matter prior to this but you have yet to prove your worth in front of the voters at large by seeking for a direct contest.
So, Chua, the ball is in your court. Do you dare or just talk big? You have three choices here, first - resign as MCA president; second - take on the top Opposition leader face to face, third - just sit down and do nothing. Which one would you choose? Otherwise, what effect of you have as president of MCA? Just a big headed leader and puppet of Umno.
