Breach on election campaign rules, is EC pretending not to know?

What is really disappointing and disgusting here is, the Election Commission (EC) is clearly turning a blind eye on all those election campaign banner and flags which are being put up by the Barisan Nasional (BN) and its component parties. These actions by the BN are clearly a breach of the which is stated in the Election Offenses Act.

So, why are there no action at all from the EC and its enforcement officers? These BN flags and banners are found hang up almost everywhere, be it in the rural areas or urban areas. Some of these flags and banners are also found to be obstructing the public facilities, such as roads, traffic lights, street lamps, sign boards, road signs and pedestrians as well of which could threaten the safety of the road users at large.

For decades, it has been seen that the EC enforcement officers would usually targets the Opposition parties if their banners and flag were to be found to have been put up prior to the election campaigning period or reported to have breach some other electoral laws in the process, and very often, those BN flags and banners are left untouched.

The clear facts of the EC's inaction onto the ruling elites' too many electoral offenses is the EC itself is not independent at all. The EC is not under the parliamentary jurisdiction but instead the electoral body was more than an agency of a government administration, as the EC currently reports directly to the Prime Minister's Department which is under the direct supervision of the Umno president who is also the prime minister.

Asides, the EC officials, such as its chairman, deputy chairman and a team of its commissioners are all recommended and appointed by a panel under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister's Department and the parliament does not have the opportunity to scrutinize the candidacy of all these appointees who are supposed to be independent from any government or political establishments.

What make thing worst of all these parts are even the EC chairman and his deputy are found to be registered Umno members (although inactive in participation) but because of this, it has also clearly reflects some doubtful situation as to determine if these officials are really neutral in their duties and responsibilities or otherwise.

Then, what about all those illegal and phantom voters (We are not talking about ghost voters, as the EC has always insisted in its reference)? It has been noted that until today, EC has still yet to clean up its entire electoral list of these illegal and phantom voters. The situation is now becoming even worst when a large numbers of foreigners has been illegally given the Malaysian citizenship and given the right to vote in general elections.

It looks like whatever the EC is doing now has already went out of control, we don't care if it is accidental or on purpose. The situation has become more complicated now on as on how to resolve them and put the EC house back in order.

In the end, EC decides to sweep everything under the carpet and pretending no to know anything at all, just because nobody reported anything at all.
