What BR1M has done to our people?

Most of us would be wondering why is this question being posed and what was the reason? What BR1M has done to our people? Yes, we are not talking about that value amounting to RM500. We are talking about the impact of the BR1M to our people based on our previous and current observation.

In the beginning, when those qualified recipients received their letters from the Ministry of Finance confirming that they are qualified for the RM500 and must collect them from which location and the duration of the said offer as well as the collection dates available.

What happened then? Here's where the mad rush get started. Most of these BR1M collection centers nationwide commence in the early morning, 8.00 am. Those recipients would normally rush to these collection centers as early as 6.30 am. But by the time some of these recipients reached those collection centers, they would found that some might have already reach there even earlier, maybe 5.30 am or 6.00 am in order to catch up with the front line.

Then, by 7.00 am in the morning, traffic flow into these collection centers would start to increase, and as the result of the increasing vehicle presence in these area, the traffic becomes jam, from one late to two lanes, then three lanes, later on some impatient motorists would start trying to cut the queue in order to get to the collection centers first.

So, finally when these recipient managed to reach these BR1M collection centers, what would they get? They don't get that RM500 cash yet, of course. Instead, they would asked to show their MyKad or Birth Certificate, get their details verified and only then a RM500 "voucher" would be presented to these eligible recipients.

Then what? These BR1M aren't disbursing the RM500 aid in cash directly to these eligible recipients, but instead only the "vouchers" are being given out. These recipients are instead being directed to another collection center on the next day, which are operated by Maybank, CIMB and so on, in order to collect their RM500 cash. There goes again, traffic jams and the crowds in the designated "cash" collection centers.

However, in the end of the day, most of those recipients that came later (because of the earlier mad rush and traffic jams, they couldn't get to the collection centers) would be disappointed as these collection centers would somehow or rather, ran out of cash, as according to them (Maybank, CIMB and so on), they have limitation in values when transporting the cash in such way.

In the end, after all the mad rush and having got to endure into the massive traffic jams, the only thing these people got are merely "vouchers" in their hands, and on the third or fourth day, they would need to go to the banks themselves (let's say Maybank or CIMB) to queue up all over again to present their vouchers to the bank counters and only then they would finally get their RM500 cash.

The major problem here is, why would the BN government wanted to create too many channels when offering such cash incentives to our people? Are they really sincere in giving out these BR1M of theirs? In many occasions, it has been noticed that most of those BN politicians who are present in the BR1M presentation even are laughing off these recipients simply as "clowns", "stupid", "fools" or even "beggars".

If the BN government is really sincere to the bottom of their heart in giving out these BR1M for the benefit of our people, a simplest channel of disbursing these cash aid should be implemented instead of making our people having have to go through all those traffic jams, hassles and bureaucratic procedures.

We supposed what have been mentioned by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang recently on the BR1M that makes our people looks "stupid" may be accurate in the sense if we really study and review what the BR1M has done to our people in the process.
