Our PM is a true coward

The intrusion into Lahad Datu, Sabah by a group of hundred over heavily-armed Sulu terrorists claiming themselves to be the "royal army" of the Sulu Sultanate has been dragging for too long now. At first the home affairs minister Hishammuddin Hussein flew into the state to see what is going on. Then, the defense minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was nowhere to be found and did not even bother about enemy intruding into our country. What next? The Philippine President Benigno Aquino III has sounded his warning and gave the Sulu Sultan a final word, "withdraw or face the consequences". But what about our Prime Minister Najib Razak? Where is he and how come is not interested at all on what is currently happening in Sabah, one of the poorest state in Malaysia? It looks like the Philippines president is much more forthcoming on the Lahad Datu incident than our Malaysian prime minister. If this is the case, Najib does not even bother who is trying bulldozed into our countr...

Terrorists intrusion of Sabah. Who is at fault?

N.B. This article was earlier published in the Inter-Research And Studies (IRAS) website on 21 February 2013 The intrusion of Lahad Datu, Sabah by a group of heavily armed terrorists believed to be originated from the Southern Philippines has been one of the major highlights in the current news reports. So, who is actually at fault in this crisis situation? Our main question here is, where is the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) as well as the Army (TDM) who are supposed to watch over the waters, air and the lands in our country? Another big question mark to the Ministry of Defense which is currently under minister Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who is also the Umno vice-president. It was understood that the Ministry of Defense had spend billions of Ringgit under the tenure of the then Datuk Najib Razak and the current Datuk Ahmad Zahid to acquire many kinds of modern weapons, such as the MIG aircrafts, the naval patrol vessels, gunboats, the Scorpe...

Close Interfaith Relations Should Be Encouraged

N.B. This article was earlier published in the Inter-Research And Studies (IRAS) website on January 2013 On the recent statement by the Parliamentary Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim citing the importance and need to have more interfaith understanding, Inter-Research And Studies (IRAS) applaud his call as a step forward towards a stronger political will to ensure interfaith understanding in this country is in place. IRAS has seen this call by the country's top opposition leader as encouraging and we would like to see that the future government would take this step towards implementation once the voters decide the who should be the new government after the next general elections. Interfaith understanding is what the current sitting government in Putrajaya has failed to preserve. What we had seen and are seeing now is the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition is disintegrating from within just because of this problem. Umno wanted a more "supreme" position for the...

BN has nothing else but hatred in its agenda and politics

The Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition and its component parties has nothing else in their policies, political agendas and campaigns but only hate, hate, hate and hate. That's it. Despite living in the modern world, BN and their leaders are still in denial mode, they are still living in the past, they are backward and outdated in the way they are thinking, their mindset and their attitude. Whenever MCA is holding its gathering, meetings or talking to the Malaysian Chinese community around, the party president Dr Chua Soi Lek will always harp on the issue of PAS would become the most powerful party in a Pakatan Rakyat government and the Hudud law would be implemented against the will of all non-Muslims in this country. Then, on the other side of the political divide within the BN coalition, the dominant party Umno says it to the Malay community otherwise. The most recent one now was mentioned by the party's very top leader, Umno president Najib Razak who at Terengganu told the...

What BR1M has done to our people?

Most of us would be wondering why is this question being posed and what was the reason? What BR1M has done to our people? Yes, we are not talking about that value amounting to RM500. We are talking about the impact of the BR1M to our people based on our previous and current observation. In the beginning, when those qualified recipients received their letters from the Ministry of Finance confirming that they are qualified for the RM500 and must collect them from which location and the duration of the said offer as well as the collection dates available. What happened then? Here's where the mad rush get started. Most of these BR1M collection centers nationwide commence in the early morning, 8.00 am. Those recipients would normally rush to these collection centers as early as 6.30 am. But by the time some of these recipients reached those collection centers, they would found that some might have already reach there even earlier, maybe 5.30 am or 6.00 am in order to catch up with ...

One Vote For Umno is One Vote For Violence, Threat and Terrorism

According to the prime minister and Umno president Najib Razak recently, one vote for the opposition parties would be a vote for the breakdown of faith in this country. Well, everyone knew whatever Najib says was merely because he just needs to say that for the sake of saying it. His words were empty. One vote for Umno is in actual fact one vote for violent, threat and terrorism. Our people has already know does dirty works being carried out by Umno all this while. Their leaders' speech and statements are full of incitement for hatred on our nations non-Muslims and non-Malay communities; Umno leaders incite its members to disguised under the name of various NGOs nationwide, told to hold racist based demonstrations throughout the nation to demonstrate against the opposition parties' alleged "anti-Islamic" or "anti-Malay" lifestyles; attempting to topple opposition held state governments by various ways and means; encourage Malays and Muslim to hate other c...

Breach on election campaign rules, is EC pretending not to know?

What is really disappointing and disgusting here is, the Election Commission (EC) is clearly turning a blind eye on all those election campaign banner and flags which are being put up by the Barisan Nasional (BN) and its component parties. These actions by the BN are clearly a breach of the which is stated in the Election Offenses Act. So, why are there no action at all from the EC and its enforcement officers? These BN flags and banners are found hang up almost everywhere, be it in the rural areas or urban areas. Some of these flags and banners are also found to be obstructing the public facilities, such as roads, traffic lights, street lamps, sign boards, road signs and pedestrians as well of which could threaten the safety of the road users at large. For decades, it has been seen that the EC enforcement officers would usually targets the Opposition parties if their banners and flag were to be found to have been put up prior to the election campaigning period or reported to have...

Vote buying is legal, says MACC official

What gravely shocking statement was that? One of the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy commissioners by the name of Sutinah Sutan had told the public that vote buying during the general elections is not an offense and is therefore a legal thing to do. From the statement made by the MACC deputy commissioner, it seems the MACC is saying that certain elements of corruption can be considered as non-offense and legal, therefore allowing the politics in this nation to be even more dirtier than ever, especially on the ruling BN side. With the MACC affirming vote-buying is no more an offense, BN and Umno leaders would definitely go all out in their vote buying activities in the general elections as well as in their party elections as well. With vote-buying being legalized by MACC, genuine democracy in this country would certainly be affected and the validity of the electoral process would also be questioned. We would like to ask, if the MACC's statement had ef...

Rulers interfering too much in politics and governance

We are gravely surprise and disappointed with the recent statement by the son of a state ruler who is also the regent giving praise to Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) thus putting himself into an awkward situation which would draw much criticism from our people. Doesn't that regent supposed to know that he now a number two - second only to the state's throne after his father, which directly qualifies him into the institution of the constitutional monarchy system. Unless, he chooses to be active in politics and wanting to join a political party of his choice, then he should renounce his position as the regent of the state and leave the royal institution for good. The question here is, why is he making such a direct statement by taking sides in politics? What was his intention to do that? Was his speech being systematically written by the state government officials and he only reads them out during the function? We might say if that is true because whoever works in the royal ...

Armed intruders in Sabah, aren't they the "Enemy of the State" too?

Recently, there are about hundred over gunmen calling themselves the "Royal Army of the Sulu Sultanate" intruded into the Malaysian waters and invaded a focus area in Sabah of which they claim to have historical interests with. According to an old man who claimed to be Sultan Jamalul Kiram of Sulu, his "royal army" would not leave Sabah until their claims are being recognized by both the Philippines and the Malaysian governments. It looks like more a threat to the security of our nation than just a mere joke from a clown like Jamalul Kiram. All his men which was led by his "Raja Muda" were heavily armed with machine guns and rocket launchers. So, from what you have been observing the situation there in Sabah, the state already have enough of foreigners and there comes another group, this time a heavily armed one coming over to claim the state as one of theirs. How come the home affairs minister (Hishammuddin Hussein) as well as the defense minister (A...

Unbridled freedom of alternative media harmful

According to the former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, unbridled freedom of alternative media are very harmful as it has channel lies and the untruth to the public. Correction, it is the alternative medias who has been distributing the truth and facts to the people. Mahathir is still in a denial mode, denying the existence and importance of the alternative medias and the on-line news portals, blogs and worldwide webs services. You know what? It is the traditional mainstream medias (MSM) such as the newspapers and television stations which are the BN government's fully-owned who are the ones distributing racism, hatred, the untruth and lies to our people. Apart from that, it was also the work of most government-owned MSM covering up the truth from the people, by not reporting the facts, publishing many kinds of reports that are promoting racism, hatred and suspicion among our people. Malaysia is a democratic nation, and Mahathir has made call to convert this country ...

PSM's logo is perfect, no confusion

Image
We wish to refer to the statement made by the PKR advisor and parliamentary opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim pertaining to the use of the Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) logo in the coming 13th general election. According to Anwar, the PSM's logo would confuse the people and the white fist symbol could be seen as something else such as communism and might draw supporters away from voting. We wish to ask the opposition leader, in what way was the PSM logo may confuse the people? What makes the PSM logo look something like communism? Doesn't Anwar realize that the hammer and the sickle is the actual symbol of communism? Yes, we do realize that many people often mistaken socialism as part of communism. Socialism is the ideology based on the social needs of our people and socialism does not reject the process of democracy, while communism is a sort of socialism in the hurry as it would achieve its objectives via revolution instead of going through the democracy channel. Asi...

Who is trying to Assassinate Who?

We were gravely surprised and shocked to hear from the Penang BN chairman and Gerakan secretary-general Teng Chang Yeow saying that the K-pop singer Psy who was invited to perform in the recent Penang BN Chinese New Year open house in Han Chiang High School has been threatened with an assassination attempt of which had prevented the later from coming up to the state for the "lo shang" together with the prime minister and Umno president Najib Razak. We were all wondering why would Teng give such an excuse. To cover-up its shame for not being able to persuade Psy to come up to the stage in the name of BN? To cover-up Najib's face after the invitation has been rejected? We would like to ask Teng, why can't he come up with something which is more believable? Why can't BN just admit it and move on to the next chapter? Why make up such unreasonable stories to cover its losing face scene? Accept the facts that the people in Penang are not in favour of BN anymore. ...

The Real and Actual Troublemakers

Image
In the statement made recently by the Umno vice-president and defense minister "Dr" Zahid Hamidi, it was mentioned that he has reminded the Opposition should not get too emotional and create trouble if it losses the 13th general elections. According to Zahid again, if the Barisan Nasional (BN)-Umno wins the 13th general elections, the Opposition needs to support the decision and if the Opposition wins, then BN would also need to support the decision made by our people. Then, he reminded the Opposition again, "don't create trouble", when he spoke to the press at an MCA function in Hutang Melintang recently. We would like to ask, who was the ones who are creating too many troubles and being so emotional all this while? When Opposition parties took over Penang state in 2008, it was Umno who has instigated a massive demonstration around the island in an attempt to topple the state's newly elected state government. Why didn't Zahid send in the troops t...

EC says unexpected situations may occur in GE13

Image
Recently, the Elections Commission (EC) deputy chairman Wan Ahmad Wan Omar has gave a prediction that unexpected situation may occur in the coming 13th general elections (GE13) due to some mistrust doctrine adopted by certain quarters towards the electoral transparency and the EC has the electoral management body. We would like to ask this Wan Ahmad, what kind of unexpected situation you think it may occur during the GE13? If you are a public servant serving the public interests, would you mind informing the public what are those unexpected that you have predicted that may happen in the GE13 so that the people would get themselves ready for the said situation? If the EC deputy chairman is not responding to our request until today, then, we all should know what are all his predictions are. He is and will be working hand in hand with the BN leaders in the coming GE13 to ensure BN come up as a winner and remains in power in both Putrajaya and the other states. Asides, the EC woul...

Can Umno perform as an effective opposition?

Many of us are expecting that Umno would be send over to the opposition bench come next general elections as our people are getting fed up with its current dirty politics. The question here is, will Umno be able to perform as an effective opposition in the first place? For more than 55 years of Umno's ruling at the federal level as well as in most of the states, Umno leaders are still complaining that the Malay community nationwide are being sidelined and the official religion of this country, Islam is under threat. When they are complaining, it is everything about race and religion. Umno leaders are doing everything it can to drum up the sentiments of race and religion in its politics of revenge, hate and threatening. So, for more than 55 years of governance, and yet Umno leaders are still complaining that the Malays are being sidelined and Islam is under threat. Who is in the wrong then? Why are the Malays are still being sidelined when Umno is still in power? Why is Islam u...

Felda set to waste another RM100 million

Felda has recently announced that they are planning to construct a stadium in order to accommodate the Felda settlers' "sports activities". The cost of the stadium's construction has been mentioned about RM100 million but excluding the other additional costs which may arise in due time. First of all, what is the sole purpose of constructing a "Felda Stadium"? Then, who will manage the stadium, the settlers or the Felda management team? In what way, would the stadium benefits the Felda settlers nationwide? Or will it only benefits certain parties or cronies from within the Umno circle and Felda management team? The Felda management under the chairmanship of the former Negri Sembilan menteri besar will have to spell it out clearly on the purpose of the stadium. What he says are too general, in such a way that an adult is merely talking to the kids around. Basically, if you are talking about the one, which will benefit the Felda settlers, in what way or me...

Let Sabah Political Parties Rule State

Right now, ever since the then opposition Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has taken over the state government from the currently defunct Parti Bersatu Rakyat Jelata Sabah (Berjaya), a major Barisan Nasional (BN) component party in Sabah, many political parties from peninsular, particularly from the BN side are flowing in large number into the state trying to take up some positions in the local political arena. BN component parties such as Umno, MCA, Gerakan and PPP are making their presence felt within the local community there, thus also creating a messy competition amongst local based BN component parties, like Parrti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), United Pasokmomogun Kadazan Dusun Murut Organization (UPKO). Asides from that the Opposition side is also full house. After PBS returned to the BN fold, the DAP, though a peninsular-based opposition party was the only opposition party with a stronger presence in the state and had also managed to blend into the ...

Even Melaka CM says it's okay to break the law

Melaka chief minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam slammed the Penang state government for taking down the illegally hung Chinese New Year banners of prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. As it has been clearly stated by the Penang's both municipal councils, these banners, be it the prime ministers or whoever big shots they are, as long as they are without permits, then it is against the law or proper order as being legislated by the government. According to Ali Rustam, it is also rude to remove Najib's Chinese New Year banners just like that. We would like to ask Ali Rustam, disregarding the law is also rude, isn't it so? Please answer this question. By ignoring the law and proper order of the municipal council, we would say that is rude as well. Come on! The prime minister is not above the law. If you dare say that big shots like the prime minister or yourself are above the law, then it is confirmed that your supremacy or greatness are above the establishment of whi...
