Where is Tunku Aziz?

When Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim joined the DAP and later appointed as the party national vice-chairman in 2008, then appointed by the Penang state government as member of the senate representing the party, what has he done to uphold and support justice, equality, democracy and the non-ethnic approach which has been the principles and struggles of Pakatan Rakyat? Ever since Tunku Aziz was appointed DAP national vice-chairman and senator, he has been labelled as a "traitor" to the Malays for joining a "Chinese-based" party by ruling elites within the Barisan Nasional (BN) particularly the dominant Malay-based party, Umno. What has Tunku Aziz done to counter the bad effects by his detractors at that time? What has Tunku Aziz done in order to improve DAP's standing in the eyes of the Malay community during his tenure as the party's national vice-chairman? What has Tunku Aziz done to defend the party and Pakatan Rakyat from the racist attacks and threats from ...

NGO pro-Umno kacau perempuan

Kenapa pu...

Halang pilihanraya bersih bagaikan demokrasi dinafikan

Amendment to the Act moving towards internet censorship

We observe with grave concern over the recently passed Evidence (Amendment)(No.2) Act 2012 which mentioned that internet users would be held liable for any content posted through their registered networks or data processing units. Such measures are clearly seen to be unjust and it looks that it is the BN government attempt to put more fear in our people. It has been confirmed that the recently amended law would have a very serious repercussions on internet use as the owner of the site or device will be treated as guilty and has to fight for his or her innocence. What if another person starts a blog in you name? What if an unknown person posted some offensive comments into your Facebook? What if someone shares your WiFi account or upload any documentations that are deemed unlawful? And what if someone (particularly from the pro-government side) hack into your account and post all sorts of articles which are deemed to be threatening the nation? Is the authorities going to cut it short...

Violent, jealousy and revengeful culture in Umno

Ever since the year 2008's 12th general elections which saw the BN losing its grip on their previously held two-thirds majority, Umno had demonstrated a more violent, jealousy and revengeful culture within its organization and ranks in order to warn the people of their aggressiveness and in not wanting to lose their rights of being the sole political representative of the Malay community in this nation. For what reason are they doing all these? Just because they do not believe in democracy or the electoral process anymore? Are they angry or frustrated with the majority of our people who are now supporting the opposition front? Are they angry or frustrated with the Chinese community who had withdrawn their support for Umno ever since the year 2008? From our observation, it is the clear fact that Umno is sending a very clear message to its party members and the people as well, that is they are going to lose more seats in the next general elections. They are echoing to the people...

The departure of Tunku Aziz from DAP

Recently, we had seen  and heard the news of Tunku Abdul Aziz's departure from DAP due to his vast differences of opinion with the party's top leaders on the Bersih 3.0 rally. It was a grave surprise and shock to everyone, particularly the leaders of DAP. And immediately on the following day, the BN government's mainstream medias are quick to highlight such news to their top priority by stating that the DAP national vice-chairman has resigned and quit the party for good because of his principles and integrity. And with all these had made Tunku Aziz a famous star overnight. First, he was regarded as a traitor of the Malay race and now he is a hero to the same group who had earlier deceived him.. Everyone of us knew who Tunku Aziz was. He was president of Transparency International Malaysia (TIM), an advisor to Bank Negara and also held many positions in the United Nations. His track records were indeed proven then. Immediately after the 2008 12th general elections, ...

Withdrawal of Election Offences Amendment Bill, EC blamed Bersih and Opposition

The Elections Commission (EC) deputy chairman Wan Ahmad Wan Omar was angry when the federal government has decided to withdraw the Election Offences Amendment Bill until he put all the blame on the Bersih 3.0 and the Opposition parties. We wish to ask this Wan Ahmad, when this Bill was drafted earlier, did he know that who are the stakeholders that he or the EC must consult? Whoever it is, be it the BN, Pakatan Rakyat, social interest groups, NGOs, human rights groups and all those who are of 21 years old and above are all stakeholders. Why wasn't any or all the stakeholders are consulted? Since when did the EC function like a secret society with absolute powers to make changes as and when and what it feel suited to do, according to their liking? We only got to know that one of the ridiculous provision was also included into the amendment of the Bill which "gives the EC privacy inside the election process". So that they are at liberty to cheat and do whatever they an...

Pro-Umno and BN violent protests, why inaction from police force?

We were gravely disappointed with the recent violent protests recently which centered around the residence of Bersih chairman Datuk S.Ambiga, the official residence of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and the Penang state government's complex (Komtar). What we all knew are all these violent protests are being systematically staged by the pro-Umno and BN groups, particularly Perkasa and other Umno-inspired NGOs. The situation during these protests seems to be very violent, coupled with name calling, cursing the victims and their family members, urging everyone to hate and to blame them for whatever grouses or grievances they had and so on. Apart from that Perkasa members were also seen issuing death threats to the Penang Chief Minister by putting death signs onto his official residence gates, fence and roadsides. These Perkasa members are also seen doing the same when they held their protests outside Komtar. In the end, what they did? Rubbish are being simply thrown about and...

Felda's "durian runtuh". Was it real?

Yesterday, the prime minister and Umno president Najib Razak has announced a typical "durian runtuh" of RM1.7 billion for all the Felda settlers to enjoy. Yes, he saw the crowd, they were all happy then. He thinks that they are all stupid, ignorant and money can buy anything. Well, this is his assumption anyway. Since the Najib and Felda chairman Tan Sri Isa Samad (who was previously found guilty of money politics) had choose to empty Felda's treasury before the its public listing, what is the worth of the company after listing then? What will it convince the investors to buy its shares? In public view, it is like you are stripping the cash and assets of the company. Remember, once Felda is listed, they are going to receive all those money from the public. What then if the public buy the Felda shares, and when Felda's piggy bank got filled up again, Najib would decide to throw out the cash again, come the 13th general elections. And when Najib do that, will ...

Kerakyatan tercicir: Kenapa baru sekarang nak berebut buat baik?

What is wrong with EC duo as Umno members? This is what Dr M says!

Recently, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad brushed aside calls from the opposition front for both Elections Commission (EC) chairman Abdul Aziz Yusof and his deputy chairman Wan Ahmad Wan Omar to resign from their respective positions in the EC as soon as possible. Dr Mahathir asked, "What is wrong with these to EC men being Umno members?" Looks like Dr Mahathir is sending a negative message across the nation and the international community as well. It has been confirmed that aside from Abdul Aziz and Wan Ahmad, there are also other senior civil servants up there who are also card-carrying Umno members. Could it be the Inspector-General of Police as well, or the Lord President (of the Judiciary) or even the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner? What about the Datuk Bandar of Kuala Lumpur? Are these serving senior civil servants Umno members too? This is what we need to check as well. Now, coming back to the EC duo as Umno members,...

SUARAM activist was quickly charged in court for "trespassing"

An activist from the Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM), one of the most active and vocal human rights non-governmental organization in this country, has been charged in the magistrate's court in Penang today for "trespassing" into the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to brief the students there on Bersih 3.0 rally. The SUARAM activist who was accompanied by some USM students was said to have been detained by the said university guards and accused him of trespassing and campaigning for Bersih 3.0 rally in the university's compound. The 21 year-old activist was later handed over to the police on the same day as a "criminal". The police later filed a charge against him in the magistrate's court today for the said "crime" that he never did it at all. Just look at how "quick" and "efficient" the police are when dealing with such situation which have no link to BN or Umno. Let us all recall the previous event which we saw polic...

Fatwa Committee declares some protests haram

The BN government's National Fatwa Committee (NFC) has decided that it is "haram" for Muslims to be present or to participate in any gathering or demonstration that is unproductive, "against the law" and creating "disturbance" to the country, such as the recently held Bersih 3.0. But sad to say that the NFC had in fact overlooked some other matters or issues which are far more disgusting like the police brutality, corruptions, mismanagement, power abuse, tampering of electoral lists, violence, racism, threats and so on. To those in the NFC, please come up steadfastly on these negative elements. Are they all "haram" or "halal"? Why isn't there any fatwa being issued onto police brutality, corruptions, mismanagement, power abuse, tampering of electoral lists, violence, racism and threats? Or even terrorism? All these are deemed to be unproductive, against the law and do also create disturbance to our nation's economy and ...

Enactment bill to allow local government elections, but what if...?

The Penang state government seems to have taken a brave effort to restore the local government elections in the state by enacting a state law to allow the third vote to take place. If the enactment comes through, we will see both Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) and Seberang Perai Municipal Council (MPSP) holding their elections soon to elect their municipal councillors. The enactment bill called the Local Government Elections (Penang & Province Wellesley) Enactment Bill 2012 is expected to be tabled soon next week at the ongoing state legislative assembly sitting. With the bill, Penang will become the first state in this country, historically to have a law of its own to restore the local government elections. However, it is not clear that if the other Pakatan states like Selangor, Kedah and Kelantan would follow Penang's effort in doing so. Previously, it was only Penang and Selangor who had made known to public of its efforts to restore the third vote for the people. With...

Rally an attempt to topple the government? Yes, we will!

Image
The recently concluded Bersih 3.0 rally organized by various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and supported by the opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat at the Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur was clearly an attempt to topple the BN federal government, says Umno president and BN chairman Najib Razak. Yes, it is true that Bersih 3.0 has attempt to do even more because the BN federal government under the Umno dominance has initially planned to topple our nation's democracy, judiciary system and the Federal Constitution in order to turn this country into a dictatorship under the BN of Umno dominance. The NGOs and opposition inspired Bersih 3.0 rally was aimed to save our beloved nation from further destruction by Umno and its leaders who are so corrupted, great at power abuse, mismanagement, brutal, violent, racist, terrorizing and showing no respect at all to our nation's rule of law, human rights, social justice and the Federal Constitution at large. Therefore, it is ...

Cops to begin crack down on Bersih 3.0 but who will act against errant cops?

Image
The police today had released a list of 49 persons wanted in connection with their participation of the recently concluded Bersih 3.0 which was held in Dataran Merdeka on 28th April 2012 last week. Looks like the police would begin their witch hunting all those who gathered for Bersih 3.0 soon, starting with 49 persons identified via various pictures and it is expected that more arrests would soon take place. The problem is, the police will commence their crack down on our people soon, but who will then "crack down" on all those errant police personnel and officers who did all sorts of action which are against the law and human rights? Is there any independent source that would professionally validate and verify that all necessary actions has been taken against all those indiscipline policemen for their negative actions on that day? The answer is no. There is none. Yes, we heard the police top officials said so many times in their press release that they would also g...
