SUARAM activist was quickly charged in court for "trespassing"
An activist from the Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM), one of the most active and vocal human rights non-governmental organization in this country, has been charged in the magistrate's court in Penang today for "trespassing" into the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to brief the students there on Bersih 3.0 rally.
The SUARAM activist who was accompanied by some USM students was said to have been detained by the said university guards and accused him of trespassing and campaigning for Bersih 3.0 rally in the university's compound. The 21 year-old activist was later handed over to the police on the same day as a "criminal".
The police later filed a charge against him in the magistrate's court today for the said "crime" that he never did it at all. Just look at how "quick" and "efficient" the police are when dealing with such situation which have no link to BN or Umno.
Let us all recall the previous event which we saw police inaction till today.
During the cow head incident in Selangor organized by Perkasa and Umno youth members in protest of a proposed construction of a Hindu temple in a housing estate, the police just stood like block of woods and did nothing to neither apprehend these violent Perkasa and Umno youth members nor charging them in the court for their various racist actions and threats against the Indian community there.
And when the "Save Malaysia, Stop Lynas" campaign was carried out peacefully at the Penang Esplanade with the attendance of Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and some of the State Executive Councillors, again, a group of Perkasa and Umno youth members appeared openly to harassed some of the participants over there and they even injured some of the journalists who were covering the event, plus issuing threats against Guan Eng and the rest of the participants there. Despite some police presence at the Esplanade and a police report has been lodged by Guan Eng against those terrorists, no action nor arrests were made till today and the case was made to be forgotten just like that.
When student and Bersih 3.0 activist camped at the Dataran Merdeka one week before the Bersih 3.0 rally commence, a group of armed men all seems to be from Perkasa and Umno youth attacked these peace loving activists (who were out there to seek social justice and recourse for a free and fair elections), destroying their tents, cameras, mobile phones and stolen some of their belongings. Some of these activists and students were also beaten up for no reasons which saw a number of injured ones being send to the hospital for treatment. Again, despite the police presence in Dataran Merdeka on that night, these policemen just stood there doing nothing, until one of the students pleaded for their actions only then the policemen stood in to arrest on one of the Perkasa members where the rest are allowed to escaped just like that.
As usual police report has been made on the Dataran Merdeka incident, the one Perkasa member who was arrested that night was released on the next day citing lack of evidence or whatsoever. Until today, none of the Perkasa or Umno youth members who staged the attack at Dataran Merdeka were arrested nor charge.
So, when come to Perkasa and Umno members who are really breaking the law, behaving so violently on their victims, issuing life threatening remarks onto their victims, injuring innocent people on the streets and acted in a very barbaric manner, the police were too dumb and numb to act against these terrorists at large.
But when it comes to these peace loving people who dare come up to speak against the various injustice, corruption, power abuse and mismanagement of the Umno-led BN government and their party mafias, the police were quick to act against them within less than 24 hours, hauling everyone of them to the lock-up and then have them charge in the court immediately either on the same day on the next morning.
The situation here is, there is nothing against the law because the entire nation is already lawless itself. Whom did the police force serve anyway? Not the people but for Umno and their leaders in order to preserve their wealth, power, fame, terrorism and corruptions.
Do you still want Umno to be at helm come the 13th general elections? The future of this country are in your hands.
