"Mat rempits" all for Lynas Corporation

During a candlelight vigil last night by a group of environmentally concerned citizens at the Kuantan Port in protest of the mass shipments of the rare earth ore which had arrived at the port recently, a group of mat rempits staged a some sort of violent protest against these concerned citizens using the motorcycles that they were riding to threatened the environmentalist.

Looks like Lynas Corporation had got another kind of support, apart from Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN), even these bunch of motorcycle gangsters are now collectively Lynas' strongest supporters. In this case, Lynas should welcome and thank all these mat rempits for helping them to get rid of the people's concerns.

It is simply very clear that these mat rempits did not just went to the Kuantan Port there only to disrupt and threaten the peaceful candlelight vigil without gaining anything in return.

These bunch of rough guys and bullies could not just go there and leave empty handed. They must have been hired by someone with grave importance over the Lynas project to ensure that their money making process are not disrupted. Who else could you guess? It is either the ruling elites in the Pahang state or those corporate guys in Lynas. But we are certain that these two groups are involved.

Well, to all these Umno and BN leaders, the well-being of our people is not important. For the sake of money and wealth, they could simply turn your neighbourhood into a dumping ground without even care to inform nor consulting you. Their utmost importance is to ensure that their pockets are always full. In the end, it is our people who are going to suffer for all those would be grave effects as the results of all these rare earth ore.

Truly indeed a very sad and would be tragic experience for the people of Pahang. If the people wish to take back their homes from Lynas, they ought to know how to do it come next general elections.

This is for your health and your generations to come. Do not disfigure your next generations.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Federal Constitution that Safeguards the Legitimate Rights and Interest of All Malaysians

The provisions of the Federal Constitution are very clear. It confirmed the position of the Malay Rulers, Islam as an official religion of the federation and special position of the Malays and the natives in Sabah and Sarawak whilst recalling that those provisions balance those special positions with safeguards to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the other communities in Malaysia which also includes their right to profess and practice their religions freely without being fear of any threats or being harmed by anybody. The legitimate interests of the non-Malays and non-Muslims would include, amongst others: a) Article 153 (9) says that business or trade cannot be solely reserved only for the Malays, b) Article 3 (1) says that the official religion of the federation is Islam BUT other religions are also allowed to be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the federation.
