Here you are, it is Umno's May 13 incident again

Here you are, as expected, Umno leaders are bound to warn the Malay community again on the possible repeat of the May 13, 1969 incident (racial riots instigated by Umno leaders after the 1969 general elections).

Wanita Umno chief and disgraced former women affairs minister Shahrizat Jalil had raised the spectre of May 13 incident in her opening speech at the Wanita Umno general assembly today warning the over 1,000 wanita delegates of a possible repeat of the racial riots if Umno is weak.

So, what is the actual message that this Wanita Umno chief is trying to push into? If Umno is weak, then the Malays would run amok killing everyone again? Is she trying to create attention so that top party leaders would notice her again after she was forced to resigned from her ministerial post following the NFC scandal?

Such statement is gravely irresponsible and selfish as she is trying to make a political comeback by using racial tensions to make forward her political ambitions. She is trying to convince top party leaders to allow her back into the Umno political mainstream, getting back the opportunity to recontest the Lembah Pantai parliamentary seat that she lost to PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar in the last general elections.

The question is, are the top Umno leaders going to reprimand Shahrizat for her May 13 threat, since party president Najib Razak had earlier urged delegates to be moderate in their statement. Let us see if these party leaders really walk the talk.
