A tragic 53 year old Malaysia. We must stop this!

After 53 years and 3 months old, this nation called Malaysia had went through the thick and thins both politically and economically.

But the greatest disappointment here is, eventhough our nation had gained its independence more 53 years ago, the unity of our multiracial society is still immature.

Politically divide here had became from bad to worse. As the result, racial and ethnic tensions had also became very critical. Religious restrictions and unjust treatment over those of other faith and religions by the authorities had also add more salt onto the wound.

Who else could we blame? Partly we should blame ourselves too. Why? It is because our votes count. Whom do we vote for all these years? Yeah, most of us obediently voted for Barisan Nasional (BN) for decades because we wanted "stability", not knowing that the BN leaders had used up our money, turned corrupt and became extremists.

During the reign of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, he created Bangsa Malaysia to foster unity amongst the multiracial communities. And we believed him. Soon after that Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi took over the reign, there comes Islam Hadhari - about a moderate Islam in Malaysia, but somehow turn out to be a junk after his own Umno went against him. He lost in the 2008 general election which saw BN's majority reduced. Then when Datuk Najib Razak took over, he introduced 1Malaysia concept in order to "unite" the nation.

With the Najib's 1Malaysia, everyone's hope came back again, but the situation did not go on as what we all wanted to see and experience. Extremists and radical race-based faction from within Umno had band together to established various kind of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which are based on racism and superiority of one-race ideology.

It is clearly shown that because of intense objection from within the BN fold itself, Umno has decided to sub-contract its racism to all these radically extremist NGOs.

The result is, all our hope are dashed upon and frustration after frustration in our communities had also increased just because of the rise of racism in our country. That means, national unity is no more a priority in the BN federal government's policies.

Corruption, power abuses, fund mismanagement, discriminations and brutality of rule and law had became a norm in this country. Such brutal abuses had indeed became a symbol of one's "immortal" power and his position where some of these Umno elites had also claim themselves to be overlords who are above the law or even the Rulers as well as the Federal Constitution.

And the current Najib's reign, the Elections Commission (EC) had became more and more of a one-sided rather than an independent body. Despite many calls from most of us to place the EC directly under the parliament, the prime minister and Umno president paid no attention to these urge and instead affirming that there is nothing wrong with the EC being under the jurisdiction of the prime minister's department.

As the result, the EC continue to act under the instructions of the prime minister and because of the growing popularity of the opposition parties and its leaders, the BN federal government has to rely heavily on the "postal votes" in order to regain a contesting seat and to fully ensure some seats are not falling into the oppositions' hands. With this, the BN leaders had no other legitimate choice but to keep the EC under its strings in order to manipulate the votes to favour their political interests.

Rampant abuses by law enforcement agencies, injustice and rising crime in our nation had became a major concern to most of us, our children and our families as well. The question is, with the BN still in charge of Putrajaya, are we safe?

These law enforcement agencies who were the symbol and our source of protection of our people in the past is no longer with us. These law enforcement agencies had became a mere political tool of the BN and Umno to silent the dissent voices of our people and the opposition parties as well.

Whenever any human rights NGOs or opposition party leaders wanted to inform our people on the truth or to bring up some disputes in governmental contracts or transactions, injustice, abuse of power, mismanagement and so on, these law enforcers are quick to jump in with truck loads of battalions of their personnel to ambush, attack and arrest these innocent people, bystanders, and even those listeners from afar.

But when the leaders of BN, Umno or Perkasa issue threats of murder, bloodshed, terrorism and wanting to repeat the May 13 racial incident, these law enforcement personnel are nowhere to be seen at all. Such threats which are clearly deemed to be against the nature of the national security and public order of our country has been totally ignored in favour of the BN, Umno and Perkasa elites.

So, what is the law, when the law has not been actually enforced on those who really challenge and threaten the very foundation of this country. Do you expect us to respect the law when the law is not respected by those in power themselves? Yeah, because these political terrorists are actually above the law themselves.

The minister in charge of the internal security, law and order is actually not a home affairs ministers for all. He is only serving the interest of his party in his capacity as an Umno home affairs minister.

And so as the prime minister himself. He is not a prime minister for all but merely an Umno prime minister who also serves his party as its president. He does not listen to the people but merely listens to the Umno divisional chairmen when it comes to dictating policies for our country. Those policies are mostly not of our people's interests but in the interest of Umno.

First Umno wanted to start another May 13 incident, then a few Churches were boomed and torched, after that a cow head was brought in to prevent the construction of a Hindu temple, then recently copies of the Holy Bible for our fellow Christians were being defaced and what will become of other religions in the near future? We only hope God will guide and protect us.

We stand out, we voice out in full force, in a peaceful manner, holding a mere candlelight signifying our peace loving nature and kindness towards others and to stress that we merely want back our human rights and the rights bestowed to is in accordance to the Federal Constitution.

But what we got in return? These extremists and terrorists responded with violent-like rallies and demonstrations, showing off their hatred, armed with knives and daggers, calling for revenge, fight, war, bloodshed, chanting anti-unity slogans, calling for the death of selected opposition leaders and saying that they are doing these in the name of their so-called object called "God".

Please be informed that no Holy Books nor Prophets of any religions in this world or universe preaches his followers or devotees to kill or harm anyone who are not followers of their beliefs. These extremists and terrorists simply do not belong to any religion at all. They are merely evil-doers and followers of the Satan.

Again, when we are very firm in our stand against abuses, injustice, racism and violent politics, these Umno leaders are quick to respond by saying: "kalau tak suka boleh balik China" (referring to our Malaysian Chinese here); "kalau tak puashati boleh balik ke India" (referring to our fellow Malaysian Indians here); "kalau tak suka boleh masuk balik dalam hutan" (referring to our Malaysian natives here) and calling us with various names like, "pendatang" or "penumpang sementara".

Now that we all see these kind of brutal and violent politics being practiced by Umno and BN, do we want all these kind of "leaders" to "serve" our parliamentary and state constituencies? They are actually not "serving" us at all. They are only serving Umno, serving Perkasa and serving racism and extremism.

This is Malaysia, which we can call our country, because we were all born and we grown up here too. And so does our forefathers, then our children and families.

Malaysia, which we call our country is a democratic state in nature and this government is formed just because of us, our votes that carries. It is our votes that will determine and shape the future of our country. And it is also our vote that will determine and shape the future and the wellbeing of our children, grandchildren and generations to come.

And to give our very best to our generations to come, it is our sacred duty and responsibility to ensure that we cast our votes wisely and with a conscious wisdom in order to preserve this beautiful country for them.
