What the EC officer should not do?
In this short story, we will show you what the Elections Commission (EC) officer should not do, while confirming you as voter at the gazetted electoral list and passing to you the ballot paper to vote. The below are the summary which the EC officer cannot do:
- The EC officer cannot write down the ballot paper serial number on the electoral list,
- The EC officer cannot write down your NRIC no. at the ballot paper,
- The EC officer cannot write down your NRIC no. at the electoral list,
- Or whatever attempt by the EC officer which could have reveal your vote.
And if such situation persist, you as a voter has your constitutional right to object whatever action the EC had attempted to reveal your vote. Your vote in the ballot is secret and no other persons has any right to violate your rights and reveal whoever you vote for.
