Umno racism continues to haunt Gerakan

Umno flexes its muscle on its fellow BN component party, Gerakan again to show that who is in charge in the disoriented coalition.

Penang Gerakan legal and human rights bureau chairman Baljit Singh has drawn flak for calling on Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and his Cabinet to take individual religious vows to prove that they are of impeccable moral standing.

Rubbishing the call, Umno supreme council member Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz said, "tell this Punjabi boy, where is he coming from? Is he from BN or is he from the opposition?" Umno is making yet another racist remark on Gerakan, one of the member party of the BN coalition.

Nazri had ultimately directed the racist remark by calling Gerakan's Baljit a "Punjabi boy" because he called on Najib and his ministers to take up their religious vows on their moral standing.

So Baljit, what are you going to say about this? We are certain that your Gerakan president Dr Koh Tsu Koon would not be able to defend you because he likes his senator and ministerial positions and he would like to maintain them. Besides, Dr Koh is also busying himself in Sarawak doing his running dog work for Umno and PBB in the current state elections.

Even your Penang Gerakan chairman Dr Teng Hock Nan seems to be too timid and dare not voice out to defend you for fear of angering the state Umno leaders.

Baljit needs to rethink about his future in Gerakan, since his top leaders are not defending him at all. You should maintain your principle on what is right and what is wrong. If Gerakan cannot champion what you believe in, what is the point of staying in that party?

We have been hearing Gerakan's Bangsa Malaysia and Anak Malaysia program all these years but what can they do? Umno is still in charge of the BN coalition and it dictates its policies onto our people. So, what are the rest of the BN component parties (MCA, MIC, PPP, SUPP, PRS, SPDP, PBB, LDP, PBS, PBRS, Upko and Kimma) doing?

Well, the rest of the BN component parties and their leaders are only busying themselves with either the factional fighting or mass wealth accumulation everyday.

What is the use of voting for these BN component parties? They would not be able to fight for whatever we want or look forward to, as long as Umno is still around and clearly dominates all policymaking efforts. With Nazri slamming Gerakan, it shows that BN component parties has no right to voice their dissent nor making any constructive criticisms.

So Baljit, either Gerakan leaves BN or you leave Gerakan. That's it! The choice is yours.
