Public misunderstands MACC, says Abu Kassim
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamed today said poor public perception remains one of the greatest challenges faced by the national anti-graft body. He said Malaysians still viewed the MACC as a ātoolā of the Umno's federal government that only went after āsmall fishā corruption cases. We would like to urge Abu Kassim to prove all of us wrong. Do not just say that we are viewing the MACC and you in a wrong way. It was the MACC and you who are performing in a wrong way. You mentioned that you are accountable to the parliament and so does the MACC, but you in most of your actions demonstrated that you are otherwise - answerable to the prime minister who is also the Umno president.
