Establish Inter-Faith Commission now!

We had enough of all those day to day "sandiwara" by the Umno-led BN federal government, claiming that they are serious in reaching to all faiths in order to promote racial and religious harmony in this country.

Stop all those nonsensical plans or proposals of establishing only a committee, special committee or sub-committee level of panel to deal with matters especially of those involve the interest of the general public and our nation. These committee level kinds of panel are nothing but a mere political gimmick.

The minister in the prime minister's department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon who is in charge of national unity and integration is in fact being kicked around here and there like a ball just to satisfy the lust of the top Umno leaders.

Like we had mentioned earlier, eventhough he is in charge, he is completely powerless as he cannot even instruct his own government to get rid of extremism in its structures and come up with a full force empowering national unity, empowering the Malaysian concept into our people.

Instead, those extremists who sat in the so-called cabinet special committee called for his removal from his national unity role and should be replaced by an Umno minister. It look so embarrassing, but Dr Koh preferred to be a thick skin and continue on with his ministerial position without dignity. That is why Gerakan will never stand up again in the next general election.

We wish to remind Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN), if you are all really serious in ensuring the national unity in our nation prosper, establish the Inter-Faith Commission (IFC) now, propose and table the Race Relations Act in the parliament now for approval and enforcement, propose an Act that outlaws all race-based political parties and NGOs and immediately endorse all the provisions and declarations made under the United Nations' International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination to ensure and guarantee racial and religious equalities for our people in our nation.

Can Umno and BN undertake all these commitments for the betterment of our people and humanity?
