No more contracts available, Umno politicking continues
Did you know why Umno is now making a hell of noise on the alleged illegal sand mining in both Selangor and Penang states? Umno is at the loss, total loss and they had nothing more to say.
All they had is their many past misdeeds, missing public funds, power abuses, corruptions, mismanagement, scandals and various illegal activities. And that is why they are politicizing all these past materials and made the present state governments of Selangor and Penang at fault in order to cover theirs. It is very clear, all these negative elements were carried during Umno's reign in these two states.
PKR, DAP and PAS only came to power on March 2008 and it is only about two years plus. How can they afford to do these wonders in billions of Ringgit anyway? No way as Pakatan Rakyat's new found governance are still fresh and they do not even know how to warm their chairs properly yet.
In addition, since they came to power two years ago, they are often faced with challenges of uncooperative civil servants particularly of those who has been loyal to Umno all this while.
A very good example is the Perak coup d'etat, where we saw the state development officer, state secretary, state legal adviser and the state financial officer who collaborated with Umno to toppled the elected state government there.
Then the scenario was about to repeat in Selangor, when Umno leaders tried to instigate the state and federal civil servants there do disregard the new state government's policies and implementations, especially on the transparency process of contracts awarded to those who applied to undertake some projects initiated by the state.
Umno divisional and branch leaders are losing their bid to obtain contracts via direct tenders, and that is why, in order to make their plights heard, they demonstrated and twisted the facts that to alleged that Bumiputra entrepreneurs and contractors are being sidelined, the present state governments in Selangor and Penang are being anti-Malay and so on.
They keep on protesting the demonstrating reasoning that their "Bumiputra" opportunities (actually Umno's opportunities) are now gone with all those Chinese and Indians. To an extend, they even make threats, violence and promote hatred in order to scare others into submission.
And when they failed to make their plights heard by the ordinary Malay and Bumiputra communities, these Umno leaders started to establish and disguised under the identities of NGOs like Perkasa, Gertak, MPM and had even made use of the local chamber of commerce and the business associations to stir up the racial tensions in order to gain support from the ordinary Malay and Bumiputra communities.
Why? Because these Umno leaders and their cronies are unable to compete fairly in the various government tenders which are now open up for public scrutinies. They are afraid to compete in public tenders for fear that their misdeeds would be known and exposed.
They are now instigating the Penang state development officer to go against the Penang state government, denying the state of any allocations of development funds, delaying financing to the state's infrastructures and so on.
Why did Umno instigated the Penang SDO to rebel against the state government? It is because the Penang chief minister is exposing too many of Umno's misdeeds of the past. So, in order to preserve their past misdeeds, they fan up racial tensions in order to divert the public attention from their previous negative elements in their governance.
That is why these Umno politics are never ending. The economy is not improving, the FDI is going down, the inflation is increasing, unemployment on the rise and our people are suffering.
This situation must be discontinued as soon as possible. Our people must make their decisions wisely in the next general election.
