Penang SDO acting like a "de facto" chief minister

Since from the beginning of the federal appointed state development officer (SDO) in Penang, he does not seem to be acting like a full-fledge senior civil servant whose supposedly role is to ensure the relationship and communications between the federal and the state government are in line for the betterment of the people, development and the economy of the state.

Every actions that has been carried out by the SDO had so far shows that he is acting like a politician. He is openly showing us that he is the federal appointed "de facto chief minister of Penang".

Whenever there is a federal related functions, programmes or activities, the Penang SDO had always took up the role of the Penang chief minister to officiate them (where it was supposed to be officiated by the chief minister himself). We are not talking about the chief minister should take a grab on all functions, programmes or activities organized in the state but we stressing that our Penang state government should be accorded with due respect, even if it is a Pakatan Rakyat led state government.

We all know that on many occasions which were federal related, the Penang SDO simply choose to ignore and disregard the protocol of extending the invitations to state government officials to attend all federal related functions, programmes and activities. What is the motive of the SDO for doing all these?

We want to ask the Umno-led BN federal government. What is their real motive of appointing an SDO and establish this offices in Pakatan Rakyat rule states? We also understand that the state development offices in Pakatan Rakyat states reports directly to the Najib's own prime minister's department.

If you are reasoning that the SDO is to channel developments into the states, why didn't they appoint and establish the same offices in BN rule states? As such, appointing of such SDOs are political motivated. It is very clear.

We all know that prior to the coup d'etat in Perak last year, the Perak SDO played an active role in destabilising the state's administration under the Pakatan Rakyat, which eventually led to the overthrow of the elected state government there by Umno. During the critical period of the coup d'etat, it was the Perak SDO who gave his instructions to the state secretary, state legal advisor and the state financial officer to disregard and ignore the then Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin and his state executive councillors.

Besides, it was also the Perak SDO who gave instructions to the staffs of the Perak state legislative assembly to disregard all instructions forwarded by the State Assembly Speaker V.Sivakumar which eventually also led to his ouster by the Umno militias.

So, we know the current Penang SDO is playing his role best, just like what his Perak counterpart had done. He is looking into many aspects to destabilise the political situation in Penang state in order to provide an opportunity for Umno to retake the state by illegal means, a possibility of another Perak style coup d'etat.

We wish to remind Umno, do not think that we are all fools and do not know what is going on. We are all well-informed, well-awared and currently observing the current situation closely.
