The way Umno remain in power
Why after more than 50 years of our nation's independence, the majority in the Malay and the other bumiputra communities still lacks behind. Why after more than 50 years these two sections of the bumiputras are still suffering from backwardness despite about more than hundreds of government corporations and agencies established to enhance the livelihood of these people?
The major question here is, why are they still lack behind despite Umno's continuous victory in so many general elections? Some of them do not even have the basic needs to live as citizen of this country, some of them still do not get water or electricity supplies, some of them could not even afford the basic education and some of them are still seen living in old and broken huts like the one shown above here. The New Economic Policy (NEP) did not even reach them at all.
A careful analysis has been made on how Umno had brought about their continuous victory and how they managed to maintain their influence in the villages and the other rural parts of our nation.
This is how Umno keep the communities they claimed to represent in the dark for decades. They denied these folks from the pace of development that everyone is enjoying, they kept these people away from the development of information technology for years, so that these people would continue to solely depend on RTM channels for source, information and news (the only thing they got from this channel are everything about Umno and BN, others are traitors and enemies of the state).
Despite all the facilities offered under the so-called bumiputra schemes, special share option schemes, special economic assistance, the majority in these two segment of bumiputras communities were often denied access to such allocations. Where did they go to then? In the end all these facilities end up being enjoyed only by the elites and families of the Umno leaders. They became wealthier and richer, got more powerful then they established themselves into another high pride "golongan bangsawan".
What about all those non-Umno members and ordinary bumiputras? No doubt some of them got it, but most of them did not. That is why the poor are still very poor today, those uneducated are still uneducated till today, those who are suffering from backwardness are still totally backward till today and many, many more.
Despite all these poor and undeveloped conditions, why are they still voting and supporting BN and Umno all these years? The reasons are simple. Because they were all fed with information and source only from RTM, Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian. No internet, and they could never get any news from the independent source. The excuse given is no coverage, they don't need these independent source, all independent and outside source were lies and defamation, they are all traitors and so on.
So these is how they brainwashed all these villagers and the folks there via limited developments for decades into supporting Umno continuously and blindly. This is how many of the rural villages of today are firmly in controlled by Umno leaders and their local warlords. The votes for Umno are checked and guaranteed in all these areas.
During general elections, the opposition campaigners are often denied access to these rural areas with the help of the security forces in the pretext of national security, preventing disturbance and so on. That is why Umno continue to win all the votes from these areas in all general elections. Umno's tactic is to win these elections is to keep them away from development and education.
If you want evidence, just take the Malaysian Chinese community for an example. As you all know, majority of this community grown up and live in urban and developed areas, towns, cities and business centers. Because of their conditions of living, they were exposed to numerous basic facilities, updated technologies, info-tech, higher educations, communications, news, internet resources, opportunities and so on.
That is why they are so developed, well-informed, and achieved what they had worked for although they did not receive even a cent from the federal government, be it studies, grants, loans or whatsoever. They worked hard and developed themselves into the most developed and well-informed community in this nation. Should we say, this community has about 95 percent of achievement in every field they were in annually...
Because of these, MCA and Gerakan were voted out in the last general election because they knew that these two political party under the BN coalition led by Umno had already became merely subservient and irrelevant to their community.
This community had knew, reviewed and made their decisions based on the information and relevant independent source they gained from various avenues. There is no way that they could depend solely on RTM anymore. To them, these source were completely untrustworthy of and unreliable.
So, please be very reasonable of what we are all looking and hearing. The fact, it is Umno who is the one running the entire nation for decades. Why are you still so backward? Ask them, do not blame others. Ask them why, where did all the money went to, why are only the elites enjoying and not all of them? Put all these questions onto Umno and BN. More than 50 years in their hands but what, where, who, when and how?
