Penang SDO, a political animal of Umno
We wish to congratulate Penang Chief Minister and DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng for his outstanding performance in keeping the civil service in order. Please be informed that you are elected by us, therefore you and your state government are answerable to us and not to the federal government or whatsoever their appointed officers are.
The state development officer (SDO) Nik Ali Mat Yunus has a lot to explain on so many of the unresolved issues particularly those of illegal sand mining on federal-owned lands in Penang. It is Guan Eng's right as head of the Penang state government to demand various explanations and details which involve the Penang state, be it whether the land is owned by the Umno-led federal government or any other people.
As Chief Minister, Guan Eng has all the right. We voted him into Penang state in the last general election and he is answerable to us. Therefore, we are demanding the SDO Nik Ali to explain in detail not only to Guan Eng but to all the people of Penang what is really happening on the federal lands in Penang. It is Guan Eng's responsibility as the people's servant to ensure proper governance and expose all the wrongdoings in the state of affairs.
And we are surprise to find out that Nik Ali was a mere political animal of Umno after he held his press conference at the Penang Umno headquarters. Being a civil servant and an officer of the government, didn't he supposed to know that he was should stay away from politics?
It shows that he is a politician instead of a civil officer. He is misusing his powers and jurisdictions as a civil servant in order to serve the political interest of Umno. It has been already known that on several occasions, the SDO had purposely acted against the interest of the Penang state government by not supporitng various programmes and activities initiated by the state.
On some communications and relations between the federal and the state, Nik Ali had also sabotaged efforts to enhance the federal-state relationships, particularly on matters related to federal fundings, development, tourism, economics and human resources.
So, since this political animal is a federal appointee and the state can't really do anything on him. Just boycott his office. Don't provide him anything at all nor any role in the state.
