Foreign investors avoiding Malaysia because of Umno

Malaysia is now the “least favoured market” in Asia Pacific for investors after nearly doubling its underweight rating from last month, according to a recent Bank of America Merrill Lynch report.

The country slipped two spots from 10th place to dead last — in the investment bank’s latest Fund Managers Survey, even as the Najib administration prepares to unveil ambitious economic reforms meant to boost investor confidence. This report appears to be the latest indictment of Malaysia’s inability to compete with rival regional markets.

Yes, Malaysia's economic structure is indeed sick because of so many reason in Umno. Malaysia is also politically sick because of Umno's continuance denial of the call for a drastic change in order to shape the country's economy for better. What is seen in Najib's currently ambitious planned economic reforms did not really convince the business communities both local and abroad that this country is the best place for business and investments. Even most of our local businessmen are also doubtful of their impending future of survival.

Why is it happening? Look at Umno, look at Barisan Nasional (BN), look at their current manner and desperate political situation. They are fighting for survival instead of focusing to continue developing our nation. They keep harping on old issues, they keep denying that their structures has been weaken, they keep on saying that they need not change but instead it is our people who need to change their mindsets.

As such, corruptions continue, the judiciary system is in a serious condition, democracy is again denied, freedom and justice are at stake, power abuses, mismanagement and misuse of public funds continue to haunt various levels in the civil service, blatant disregard of human rights are surfacing almost every day where the people are being abused, the people are denied of their right to obtain uncensored information and so on.

Besides, both Umno and BN are continuing their intense politicking by engineering a number of attempts to topple the Pakatan-rule states by inciting several attempts to destabilize the state administrations which were elected by the people. By continuing to den the people's verdict would mean denying democracy in work.

The successful coup d'etat which saw the Perak Umno toppling the state government there had in fact motivated Umno top leaders to attempt the same in Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Selangor but so far, none of its attempts were successful in bringing down all these four Pakatan-rule states. Even that, much damage has been done by Umno in terms of destabilizing the political situation in these states.

Apart from that, the rising of racism is also another major factor that caused the foreign investors to be cautious for fear of another ethnic riot similar to that of 13 May 1969, as Umno, BN and Perkasa leaders had on several occasions did mentioned of their intention to repeat the event, should the people continue to shun them in the next general election. Most politicians from Umno, BN and Perkasa had turned extremely racist in order to ensure their own political survival.

So, with this negative racist like elements continue to dominate our country's political scene, do you think the international community is going to have faith on us? Will they ever have any confidence in our country's stability? As long as Umno, BN and Perkasa are still around, the answers are simply a No Way at all.

So, let us not wait till our entire nation goes totally bankrupt - both financially and politically.
