BN leaders are up against Perkasa, but Dr Chua says otherwise

The newest report today says Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders finally came together today in an apparent face-off with ultra-extremist Malay rights group Perkasa and its leader Ibrahim Ali, who has been seen as a thorn in the side of the Najib administration.

However, MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek said that Malaysian politics had become more racially charged than ever. Dr Chua also said that it is equally hard to manage race relations and the expectations of each community. And he seems to be uncertain why is this happening?

Well, we think he needs a little bit of history lesson again. During the period from 1957 to 1967, the post independent Malaysia, everyone of us at that time talk about being Malaysian, everyone of us viewed each other as fellow Malaysians. We all walked, talked, ate, drank, worked, sang and danced as Malaysians at heart. And even in our movies and films during that period, all covered the entire aspects of a Malaysian Malaysia scenario which we never have today.

It is because of the May 13, 1969 racial riots which saw thousands being killed and murdered from all sides of the once we call Malaysians. Who caused of those riots? Who engineered a coup d'etat to toppled the then first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj? Who engineered the emergency order and denied the democratic process at that time? Who had engineered the effort to suspend the functions of the parliament and state legislative assemblies, denying democracy, freedom and our people's human rights.

If Dr Chua could not remember what had happened then, we shall remind him. It was Umno who had ruin the entire nation's harmony and unity. It was Umno, after 1969 introduced the racist NEP to further divide our nation, it was Umno who then further divide and rule our nation via many racist oriented policies and racial discrimination. And all these are facts where no one could ever deny it.

Based on the current situation, do you think the entire BN machinery had regretted and felt remorse over its racist policies and decades of discrimination on our people? Do you think Umno had regretted its past racist ideologies? We cannot see their sincerity at all. Until today, and there may be none to tomorrow and the rest of the future. We just really can't see the real thing yet. Because, in BN, there are still Umno, MCA, MIC who are still championing the Malays, Chinese and Indians in general.

We wish to remind Dr Chua not to try to push the blame onto others for the continuous racial politics in our country. Pakatan Rakyat never ask for all this. Our people never ask to be in such a way. Dr Chua must remember that it was BN during that time under the leadership of Tun Abdul Razak who had engineered a new race based order to rule our nation till the present day, where MCA and MIC were clearly part of it. Gerakan, PPP, SUPP at that time cannot do much as they were summarily forced into submission because of number of threats, blackmails and security reasons of which they had no other choice nor alternative but to submit into the powers of Umno.

Therefore, if this racial politics is going to continue to dominate our nation's politics, blame it on yourselves, blame it on the entire BN coalition, blame it on Umno, MCA, MIC, IPF, Gerakan, PPP, Kinma, SUPP, Usno, Upko, PRS, LDP, PBS and so on. It because of you all, racial politics are hard becoming hard to be stamped out. It is because of you all, race relations in our country has never being perfect all these years.

So what are you waiting for? Stop the pushing and blame game, clear up the mess immediately! Once you are done, get out of Putrajaya. BN is history. You will not have our votes anymore.
