Hello Najib, where is your zero tolerance on racism?

We recently heard of prime minister Najib Razak's repeated promises day after day, pledging to carry out zero tolerance on racism at all levels which of course, include his administration as well.

To one extend, Najib even gave a speech at the United Nations calling for the moderates to lead the way and to combat extremism and racism.

But after weeks and now coming to months, where is your zero tolerance on racism? Where are your solid actions which you pledged to do? Where are your records? Where are all your much said anticipations? And furthermore, where is 1Malaysia's direction?

Your zero tolerance? We don't see any of your implementations, actions or results at all. You are just only going around the nation talking, talking and talking but you did not walk the talk. It is just like not talking at all!

And there comes, another racist statement made by a senior federal government official under your prime minister's department in an Umno's function. Is there any action taken? No none at all. Instead Perkasa came to the rescue of the racist government official saying that his words were allegedly "over-politicized". We are certain that, your appointed internal investigations will come to the point that that senior official's racist statement was merely a "misunderstand" and he "didn't mean" it or so on. You think we are fools to believe all these childish reasons?

Then comes when the popular music rapper Wee Meng Chee @ Namewee who denounced racism in his video clip, who gave a talk recently at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Town Hall to obtain support for his very "Malaysian" stand, Perkasa came up and twisted the facts by labelling Namewee a racist instead.

Besides, Perkasa even stage a huge demonstration outside Namewee's forum by issuing a number of threat on his and his family. Perkasa even threatened to burn Namewee, threatened the others who supported him with violence and bloodshed. What is this all about?

We had seen, Perkasa is getting braver, darer, more fierce and violence in its pursue for their supreme race agenda. Perkasa says that their race and religion are far more supreme than the others and others should bow to their superiority. Go to hell man! Don't play god in this earth.

When Umno announced that the party is disassociating itself from Perkasa, they were very quick to retract this message after Perkasa threatened them of withdrawing the "votes" and "support" for Umno. And now we could see the Umno branches and divisional levels are holding frequent joint activities with the local Perkasa establishments.

No wonder the zero tolerance on racism is politically exempted against Perkasa. 1Malaysia, nothing but just an empty shell. Najib, like it or not, it is best that you shut your mouth if you do not intend to do anything. No one will blame you that much then.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Singapore Malay daily teaches Mahathir about hardwork

The former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assumption that Malays in Singapore had failed and their neighbouring Malays should take lesson from their plight has not impressed a Singaporean daily. The republic's Malay daily Berita Harian in an editorial said Malay-Muslims in the republic state were successful and it was a result of their real efforts and hard work in line with the values of meritocracy, not a result of being spoon-fed. “We do not believe in being spoon-fed or being too dependent on the government - in other words, we do not have a crutch mentality,' wrote editor Guntor Sadali.
