Relocating the parliament at expenses of our people?

Recently, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz said that the cabinet has decided to relocate the Parliament to Putrajaya, while the current one will be restored and turned into a museum house.

Datuk Nazri's announcement came as a shock to many of the members of parliament as well as the general public. Once again our people will have to subsidize the construction of the new parliament building in Putrajaya.

Guess what? The cost of construction and relocation would cost the federal government about RM800 million. We repeat, another RM800 million is going to be spend away just like that.

Remember, when the other Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Idris Jala said that the federal government will be in the verge of bankruptcy if all those consumer goods' subsidies were not withdrawn by then.

Which means, they had a very ambitious plan before hand to withdraw the consumer goods' subsidies from the people in order to top up their cash and reserves just to construct and relocate to a new parliament to Putrajaya?

What is wrong with the existing parliament? What is the purpose and real reasons behind the planned relocation of the parliament? What are your justifications of allowing such an expensive project to take place? Why can't the existing parliament be upgraded?

The structure of the current parliament building is still very solid and strong. We should say, it is the pride of our country, where the history of our nation began in 1957.

Why not use the RM800 million to benefit the people and the welfare of our communities? The RM800 million should be utilized to provide more scholarships to our outstanding students in order for them to further their studies in various institutions of higher learning.

By moving away and centralizing every basic government facilities to Putrajaya is also not a healthy move. More than half of the federal government's ministries and agencies had since being relocated to Putrajaya.

And if you are going to relocate entirely, what will become of the Kuala Lumpur City in future. What about the economic situation in the city? Has the Prime Minister and his ministers review all the consequences in the interest of the public before deciding on the relocation?

Or are they all just thinking of their conveniences so it would be very near to their respective ministries and offices in future.

Besides, there are a lot more key beneficial programs that could be carried out for the betterment of our people and the country instead of using all those funds to benefit only the ministers and their families.

One minister was quoted as saying "a new Parliament is needed so that the 200-over members of parliament can feel comfortable and continue their roles for the people". What are you talking about anyway?

Just look at how the Barisan Nasional (BN) parliamentarians behave and what they debate? Most of these BN MPs are going through with
nonsensical debates that are not constructive at all to the country and the people. Their debates and speeches are very often full of accusations, nonsense, racist statements, name callings, shouting and yelling, provocations, threats and a lot more.

And yet you want to give them a new five-star parliament just to accommodate all those low quality parliamentarians of yours.

Telling our people that if we don't cut out subsidies, the country will be bankrupt by 2019. But our people does not see the government reducing their expenditures at all.

Are we going to trust this government's words again? We already had decided that this Umno-led BN federal government is not worth to be trusted anymore simply because they usually said this and very often they will do that.

BN says get ready for price hikes, higher taxation, ending of subsidies and lastly but not least, more corruption, so all these morons could get richer and wealthier.
