Legislative committee mum over charges against state Umno leader

The Penang state legislative assembly's rights and privileges committee is tight-lipped on its first meeting to discuss charges against state Umno secretary Azhar Ibrahim who uttered seditious remarks during last month's assembly sitting.

We hope the
rights and privileges committee will act without fear and favour in the interest of the state legislative assembly and to protect its reputation. As Azhar had uttered such an irresponsible statement by warning the state government and the people of Penang that May 13 incident will repeat, he should be punished in accordance to the statutory provisions of the state legislative assembly.

By the way, since there are so many police report lodged against Azhar, we are wondering why the police has yet to take any action. This is a national security issue. An irresponsible politician had issued a threat to repeat the May 13 incident.

The police would not dare to act against Azhar because he is an Umno man. Remember, the Umno vice president is also the home affairs minister. The mobs are still running the federal administration in Putrajaya.
