Just ignore BN's racist politics
Almost everyday, in the traditional mainstream media, leaders of the Barisan Nasional (BN) particularly Umno and MCA are using race cards in their daily quest against Pakatan Rakyat (PR) component parties.
Umno has been attacking DAP, citing that this social democratic based party is currently dominant in the PR coalition and would eventually abolish Islam and turn this nation into a republic, while MCA continues its attack on the PR coalition in the opposite tone. MCA leaders, particularly Chua Soi Lek has been reminding the Chinese community that PAS is dominant in the PR coalition and would eventually turn this nation into an Islamic state if PR were to come to power, thus accusing DAP of being subservient to PAS.
In BN, they are making up two different stories against PR. And today, former Umno president Dr Mahathir Mohamed summed up another claim saying that George Soros is attempting to control this nation via its funding to Suaram and Malaysiakini. Asides, he also claimed that PR is being used by Soros who favours Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the next prime minister. Dr Mahathir repeated that Soros is a Jewish and indeed there is a Jewish connection in making in Malaysian politics.
The other mark that Dr Mahathir has repeatedly make is saying that Malays who supported the opposition coalition are most ungrateful, while the other Umno leaders too labelled the Chinese community at large who had supported the opposition as being ungrateful to Umno who has given them citizenship and many more.
In particular, whatever Umno and the other BN leaders are politicking everyday are all racist in their tones, in order to stir up the division between the multiracial communities here in our nation. However, we could see that our Malaysian brothers and sisters are not at all being influenced by such dirty racial based politics because we are all matured.
When news of successful governance by PR in the states of Penang and Selangor, that is where Umno would start off with their racist games. In Penang, Umno would drum up their usual racial jargon by saying that the Penang Malays are being sidelined by the "DAP state government" in order to stir up hatred of Malays onto the Chinese community in the state, while in Selangor, Umno leaders would often accuse PKR and PAS leaders of being puppets of the "more powerful" DAP leaders and the Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim only listens to the DAP. According to Umno, Selangor Malays are slowly losing their powers because of PKR and PAS being overly subservient to DAP.
With this kind of racist politicking, Umno and BN are hoping that the people attention on the good governance of the two PR state governments would be diverted, at the same time diverting these two PR state governments from their responsibilities to the people.
In this case, why waste time in entertaining or responding to the racist politics of Umno and BN? In governance, it is important that these PR ruled states should continue focusing on the transparency and accountability of their administrations, at the same time, to ensure its competency in the administration in order to provide its best service to the people.
So, just ignore all these BN racist politics. Do not be distracted by such.
