'Dangerous' to publicly disclose ministers' assets

According to Umno supreme council member and minister in the prime minister's department Datuk Nazri Aziz, revealing the asset declarations of ministers and their immediate family members to the general public should not be done, "as this may endanger them".

We would like to seek further clarification from Nazri about "endangering" these ministers and their families. Are they afraid that all robbers, snatch thieves, gangsters or any other kind of criminals will be lining up in front of their residence to rob their money or kidnapping them for ransom?

If this is the case, then Nazri would then had admitted that this country is unsafe for even the ministers and their families. And by saying that would also mean that Nazri had indirectly "slapped" the face of Umno vice-president and home affairs minister Datuk Hishammuddin Hussein because the police force under him is inefficient in their duties and responsibilities.

Or, is it the "danger" to the ministers, their spouses and families means our people will be shocked to find out how much of wealth, power and privilege that they have accumulated over the years as ministers and deputy ministers. It is very clear that their current lifestyle and behaviours both in public and private cannot be sustained based on their "official" salaries and perks. Most of them are super billionaires living beyond what they had earned as a minister, members of parliament, state executive councillors, state assemblymen and so on.

So, are these the "dangers" that you and your colleagues are fearing of?

By the way, this is very simple. Everyone knows the results. The disclosure of these ministers' assets to the public is 'dangerous' because all of them will certainly be imprisoned for various kind corruptions, power abuses, mismanagement and commercial breach of trusts.

No need to give any other reasons nor excuses.
