Poor racial harmony: Big headed Soi Lek did it again

Image
According to MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek, racial harmony in this country has gone downhill since the 2008 general elections. Dr Chua said the cause of the declining goodwill among the people was due to Pakatan Rakyat politicians who continue to politicize issues on race and religion even after gaining control of several states, coupled with non-stop politicking from them. Dr Chua also said the opposition used every opportunity to turn everything into racial and religious issues. The MCA president must have lost his memory. He has forgotten that it was Umno who has threatened the entire nation with bloodshed, waving their dagger aiming at other races warning them not to go overboard, wanting to burn down a Chinese Town Hall, organized a racial riot in an attempt to overthrow the Penang state government, instigated a coup d'etat in Perak and toppling its state government. Dr Chua also forgotten that it was Umno who has come up with the so-called "Ketuanan Melayu" or Mala...

We are all for Bar Council's Walk for Freedom!

Image
The Bar Council declared that its Walk for Freedom on the coming Tuesday will continue despite the concession from the government that it would consider reviewing a number of the provisions in the Umno-led BN sponsored Peaceful Assembly Bill. We applaud the brave initiatives and affirmative made by the Bar Council and their executive committee in order to defend the human rights and the Federal Constitution as well. In supporting the Bar Council's move to proceed with its Walk for Freedom, we urge all Malaysians from all walks of live to come together in order to defend our human rights and to protect our Federal Constitution. Let us all voice out and demonstrate our objections to the so-called Peaceful Assembly Bill (also known as Anti-Assembly Bill) and call for the entire proposed bill to be scrapped. The BN government had seek to review several provisions of the bill, but we knew that its move is a mere trick, a tactic to delay in order to slow down the opposition to this bill....

Premiership: MCA too chicken to seek it from Umno

Image
Earlier today, MCA youth vice chairman Yoo Wei How Yoo says if PKR and DAP were really multi-racial, then Tian Chua should be their candidate for prime minister and Karpal Singh as deputy prime minister. Looks like the said MCA youth leader is playing a racist game on PKR and DAP. First of all MCA itself is a racist party as the party is mean only for Chinese, while Umno is only for Malays and MIC is for the Indians. Umno for Malay unity, MCA going for Chinese unity and MIC with their Indian unity agenda. So, who is actually racist in the first place? Instead of asking PKR or DAP to forward a non-Malay candidate for the premier and deputy premier's positions, why not MCA do the same by asking Umno president Datuk Najib Razak to step aside as prime minister in order to allow MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek to assume the premiership? Oh ya, Dr Chua isn't an elected member of parliament, so you could ask MCA deputy president Datuk Liow Tiong Lai to assume the position of prime minis...

Project IC: Can Sabah Umno come clean?

Image
The parliamentary select committee on electoral reform is facing a very tough situation on large number of cases of illegal immigrants being granted dubious Malaysian identities in Sabah. Not even the opposition Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), DAP, but BN component parties, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), United Pasokmomugun Kadazandusun Organization (Upko), Sabah Liberal Democratic PArty (LDP) and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) too came forward to raise their complaints over this issue which had longed since 2006. The funny thing is Sabah Umno did not forward any complaints on this issue. It is because the state Umno had in fact benefited from the influx of these illegal immigrants which had eventually allow them to hold on power in Sabah for so long. Ever since Sabah Umno took the state government in 1994, the Kadazan-Dusun being the largest ethnic community there has been systematically pushed aside. Although the Kadazan-Dusun ethnic had almost about 18% a...

Pakatan has no corruption expertise

Image
According to MCA president and BN chief coordinator Dr Chua Soi Lek, a victory for Pakatan Rakyat in the next general election would spell economic disaster for the country. Dr Chua also said that Pakatan leaders had failed to formulate effective ideas for its economic agenda as they are lack of economic know hows and economic analysts were inexperience. We wish to stress to the MCA president that Pakatan Rakyat had just rule Penang and Selangor states for more than two years and these two opposition-ruled states had successfully increased the states revenue to an outstanding position until today. Just look at the auditor-general's report recently which had given their thumbs up to both Penang and Selangor state governments. And what about Perak state, where Dr Chua is also the Perak MCA state chairman? Ever since Umno retook the state via a bloodless coup d'etat on last February 2009, the Umno-led rebel state government had its state revenue dried up with the deficit increased...

BN govt starts revoking ceramah permits

Image
As the National Congress of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is due to be launched this weekend in the state of Johore, and attempts initiated by the BN government to push for the enforcement of the so-called Peaceful Assembly Act in the parliament, the police force which is currently under the direct jurisdiction of Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein (who is also the home minister) had started revoking a lots of ceramah permits issued earlier to a number of opposition parties. Approved permits applied earlier by PKR, DAP and PAS to hold their series of ceramah nationwide has been revoked without any valid reason or whatsoever. The home ministry should come forward to explain to our people what was their reason behind all these permit withdrawal after they were approved earlier? Citing national security as the reason cannot be accepted as there's no one who is threatening the national security of this country in the first place. Revoking all these earlier approved permits woul...

UUCA provisions barring students from politics to be repealed - is that true?

Image
Prime minister and Umno president Datuk Najib Razak had recently announced that the University and University Colleges Act (UUCA) will be amended in coming future to repeal provisions prohibiting student involvement in politics. We would like to ask Najib, how soon is his future would be? Is the UUCA provisions prohibiting students involvement in politics which is going to be repealed would be replaced by another separate Act of Law which is even more repressive? Previously, Najib had mentioned that the ISA, Restrictive Residence Act as well as the other repressive laws would be repealed very soon. Yes, everyone applauded it and we are all very happy. But, suddenly Najib came out with another kind of repressive law by the name of "Peaceful Assembly Act" (the name is so nice and polite) the contents of the law does not seems to be like that. And they wanted this Bill to be tabled and enforced as soon as possible. So Najib, do you think that our people is going to trust what yo...

KR1M outlets a disgrace

Image
The Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) which was an idea mounted by prime minister and Umno president Najib Razak in order to provide the people with affordable daily consumable items is a disgrace now. First, the 1Malaysia milk powder was having problem after its contents were found to be heavily contained with ingredients which would badly affect the health. Then came the 1Malaysia chili sauce was also suspected to be unsafe for consumption. And now the health ministry had instructed the 1Malaysia oyster sauce to be recalled from KR1M outlets because they were found to have violated the food safety regulations. Just look at all this. When the prime minister came out with something that carries his slogan, 1Malaysia, everyone from his inner circle would take advantage of it in order to make money out of it. Now it has been found that the 1Malaysia milk powder and the oyster sauce were rotten and not suitable for consumption, what about the rest of the food-based items currently being sold ...

Why did people protest and demonstrate?

Image
We are very much disturbed by the statement made recently by Kedah Umno deputy chairman and deputy trade minister Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir blaming the opposition and Bersih 2.0 for the massive protests and demonstrations in the country. The first thing that Mukhriz is trying to avoid is the weakness of his party, Umno in governing this country. We must acknowledge the reasons and factors behind such protests, demonstrations and why did our people came out to stage their protests and demonstrations against the Umno-led BN government. Remember, people do not simply protest and demonstrate for nothing. In every move or action, there are bound to be reasons and factors that resulted to such reactions. It is because of injustice and the draconian rule implemented by the present government that had deliberately caused much dissent from our people and the rising popularity of the opposition leaders in this country. Well, this is democracy. If you are unfair towards the people, they have their d...

Another BN's bluff for a better democracy

Image
When we heard of the intention by the BN federal government to table the Peaceful Assembly Bill in the parliament, we were not surprise after all. This effort mounted by the Umno in particular was intended to curb all dissent and freedom of speech by our people. They had indeed saw the increasing dissatisfaction of our people towards their governance, they use the police force to curb all these dissidents, political oppositions, human rights groups and other NGOs from properly demonstrating their basic human rights enshrined in the Federal Constitution. It is clear that from the content of the so-called Peaceful Assembly Bill, many clauses pertaining to the restrictions and control on our people's right to assemble, and even the our rights to express our opinions toward policies, the consideration of the permit to assemble and the criteria to apply for the same. All these purpose were clearly defined, it is to restrict our democratic rights. Better to call it, "Restriction of ...

Homosexuality is unconstitutional, is corruption lawful?

Image
According to the minister in the prime minister's department and Umno supreme council member Datuk Nazri Aziz, homosexuality is against Islam. Islam is the religion of the federation. As such, homosexuality is against the constitution. What happened to equality of all and freedom of worship? So what about gambling and consuming alcohol? Gambling and drinking alcohol are also against Islam, and Islam is the religion of the federation. In this case the Genting Casino is also unconstitutional. Right or not? Yet, why doesn't the BN government ban the casino as well? Now how about explaining why all the other unIslamic practises are allowed in this country. Don't get us wrong, we don't condone homosexuality, but do please give us a better argument and detailed explanation as your interpretation is very much discriminating. Although we do not condone homosexuality, but these kind of people are also human beings but just because they are born in such circumstances, it does not...

MCA leader appointed PM's political secretary

Image
We had recently got to know that defeated Kota Melaka MCA MP Wong Nai Chee has been appointed as the prime minister's political secretary for Chinese section. We are wondering if this Wong Nai Chee would be just another Matthias Chang, the one time political secretary to former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad, who had antagonised many Chinese with his actions defending many of his ex-boss's sporadic racialist attacks on the Chinese community. We wish to advise Nai Chee, if you are really serious about your role as the prime minister's polticial secretary for Chinese section, do not make yourself a target of ridicule by the community that you really wish to represent. Otherwise, your role would be just yet another wastage of public funds (the salary paid to you) and a mere window dressing for Umno. You are not a "patung" isn't it so?

Why cattle project given to greenhorns?

Image
First of all, why this cattle project was given to greenhorns in the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC)? A total of RM250 million in loan granted by the BN government is indeed filled with elements of power abuses. The fact is the public funds were given for the project has been invested in totally unrelated business. The fact that it is given to the close family members of a federal minister from Umno will lead one to enquire as to whether all is above board and in order. We definitely doubt that and so does our people. We want straight answers from the ministry of agricultural and the federal treasury as well on how this loan was disbursed without undergoing a proper process and procedures to ensure the company was fit and have sufficient expertise to undertake this project. In public view, it has been clearly shown that this grant has been given out of political favour as it has been given to the spouse of a serving federal minister who is also the Umno wanita chief. Besides, the mi...

Give PRM a chance, Pakatan told

Image
Recently, Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) has urged component parties of Pakatan Rakyat to allow them to contest some selected seats in the next general elections And guess what, leaders of Pakatan especially Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) are quick to blast PRM over its intention to contest in the next general elections. First of all, why the arrogance being demonstrated against PRM? Didn't leaders of PKR realize that PRM is one of the oldest political party in this country and it has indeed contributed to the well-being of the people and the country as well. Second, this is a democratic country and we are in our opinion that PRM should be allowed to contest in whichever seats they think fit to go into. And since PRM has great respect to Pakatan Rakyat, that is why they are requesting them (Pakatan) to avoid a three corner fight in the next general elections. PKR on the other hand should not demonstrate such a childish act. PKR should also remember that they had contributed the most numb...

Keangkuhan Umno dalam BN dan akibatnya

Image

Electoral reform: MCA betrayed us again

Image
In a public hearing conducted by the parliamentary select committee (PSC) for electoral reforms recently, an MCA top representative delegated by the party president Dr Chua Soi Lek had deliberately informed the PSC that overseas Malaysians should not be allowed to vote via our nation's foreign missions and consulates because they are too dependent on the internet news reports. This means the MCA leadership are all against the proposal to allow these overseas Malaysians to vote in our general elections. And later that, MCA deputy president Liow Tiong Lai then added in to call on all overseas Malaysians to return and to serve this country if they really want back their voting rights. One point of Liow's statement that we need to scrutinize deeply. If MCA and Liow wanted these overseas Malaysians to return to this country and serve her as well, can MCA guarantee these "returning" Malaysians better positions, jobs and as well as a just and equatable treatment in all sect...

Penang BN chairmanship: Tussle in Gerakan intensifies

Image
Gerakan president Dr Koh Tsu Koon will soon make an announcement by tomorrow on his number of "sacrifices" which he is expected to make. Among his sacrifices were the relinquishing the chairmanship of the Penang BN. Earlier, Gerakan secretary-general Teng Chang Yeow who is also the Penang Gerakan vice-chairman has been earmarked by Dr Koh to take over the state BN chairmanship from him. However, it has been reported that Dr Koh had later changed his mind at the last minute following an immense pressure from Umno and put the favour to his political secretary Ong Thean Lye instead. Ong is currently the Penang Gerakan secretary. It has been an open secret that Teng wasn't Umno's favourite due to his tough talking in several issues related to Gerakan while Ong was seen as Umno's top choice due to his soft approach. In this case, Dr Koh has indeed embarrassed Teng in such an awkward looking situation just because of Umno's pressure. It clearly shows the ineffective...

Seksualiti Merdeka: Police failed to use their intelligence

Image
Well, the Seksualiti Merdeka indoor festival which was supposed to commence soon has been called off due to the police ban and the threats of violence issued by Perkasa and many more pro-Umno non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The police ban was announced by the inspector-general of police last week and it has been seen that this ban was only for the sake of banning it, after Perkasa and the other ultra-rightist NGOs issued their threat to harm the participants. The IGP and the police force had in fact failed to understand the objectives behind this Seksualiti Merdeka indoor festival. They merely used those many police reports lodged to judge, they merely listen to all those claims alleged by these police report makers, the police did not really go deeper into their investigation and just based on the pressure of these violent ultra-rightist NGOs to ban the "victim" instead. That means the police failed to use their intelligence and professionalism in determining this sub...

The 4 stooges, why not demand for race tracks in BN-ruled states?

Image
We are referring to the recent four "mat rempits" or should we say the four stooges who has been welcomed by Teluk Bahang Umno state assemblyman Dr Hilmi Yahaya and confirmed that they are three PAS members and a DAP member who had earlier joined a 300 mobs of "mat rempits" who demonstrated against the Penang state government demanding for a race track for them to have their motorcycle racing. The first thing we would like to ask, will they ever dare to protest and demand in BN-ruled states demanding for the same, i.e. race tracks? Perhaps we will know where will they end up in the end if they do so. The three PAS members, maybe disgruntled with their party leadership, while the lone DAP member who had only joined the party after the 2008 general elections. Were these guys all opportunist merely trying to voice their frustrations on their party leaders because they could not get what they want? A membership or affiliation to a political party does not mean that th...

Delaying Pakatan's registration, is ROS taking side?

Image
Well, we have heard and seen the commitment of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) which consist of PAS, DAP and PKR to come up with an official coalition to fight Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general elections. They had submitted their application to register the PR coalition to the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and followed through the numerous hassles and bureaucratic proceedings made out by the ROS officials, as a tactic to prevent PR from being registered to quickly. Everything dam procedures has been followed, in accordance with the Societies Act and the submissions after submissions and follow-ups after follow-ups has been carried out by the PR national secretariat, but to-date, the ROS has yet to reply nor response to the application. The worst thing was ROS director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman had deliberately mentioned that he has not receive any application from the PR secretariat to register the opposition coalition. This means, Datuk Abdul Rahman doesn't even know what are h...

Nazi Umno versus DAP "communist"

Image
In the Star newspaper yesterday, it has been reported that Penang Umno secretary Azhar Ibrahim had deliberately called the DAP-led Pakatan state government a communist administration. The reason for Azhar's communist label on the Penang state government was because the administration had supported the protest of detention of the 6 members of the Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) at the Sungai Dua police station in Butterworth earlier before they were later unconditionally released without being fully acquitted after intense public preasure. So, for this reason, Azhar linked PSM as communist and therefore, whoever supports or in solidarity with PSM are also labelled as communist. What Azhar didn't realize until today is that he is also one of the feared Nazi leader who expounded racism, violence, corruption and issue threats against those who disagree with the Umno's quest for a one-race supremacy rule and political monopoly in this nation. What is the difference between the Umn...

Sebutir peluru atas nama sultan?

Image
