Hudud: MCA is dead if it leaves BN and Umno

The MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek had recently pledged that the party is is leading will quit the Barisan Nasional (BN) if the coalition's dominant partner Umno were to implement the Islamic hudud law.

And Dr Chua even challenged DAP in doing the same (leaving Pakatan Rakyat) if PAS were to implement or enforce the said Islamic law in Pakatan-rule states.

We wonder if Dr Chua is really serious about what he had mentioned and is he really going to do that anyway? Or is this yet another political gimmick of his in order to regain the support from the Malaysian Chinese community?

We can assure you that the Umno-MCA tiff on the hudud tiff is just another kind of sandiwara in playing. Umno trying to gain its ground at the Malay areas and MCA trying to regain its support from the Chinese areas. In the end of the day, they will come back to the same old close door room and telling everyone of us that everything has been resolved.

Just imagine if MCA were to quit the BN fold once Umno implements and enforce the hudud law in our nation.

First former MCA president Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik who is now facing a graft charge related to the PKFZ scandal will be stripped off his Tunship and lost his pensions. Dr Ling will then be immediately found guilty of all charges against him and goes straight to prison for good.

Second, former MCA deputy president Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy who is also facing a graft charge related to the a number of corrupt practices will also face the same music as does Dr Ling, charged, found guilty, goes straight into the prison and soon having his Tan Sri title stripped off.

Third, Dr Chua Soi Lek hmself will then find himself charged in the court for extra-marital affairs and follow by another one, charge for committing oral sex and with all this evidence and facts which has been proven will certainly send him straight to prison as well.

Furthermore, the alleged corruption in the tourism ministry under MCA vice-president Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen. Do you think Umno will let it go if MCA were to leave BN? Yeah, the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commmission (MACC) will rip open the entire offices of the tourism ministry and Dr Ng's residence in order to book her right to the offence that she had repeatedly denied.

So, Dr Chua should not be so big-headed when making such statements. You cannot go any further for some cheap political mileage anymore. Umno is your supreme master.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Federal Constitution that Safeguards the Legitimate Rights and Interest of All Malaysians

The provisions of the Federal Constitution are very clear. It confirmed the position of the Malay Rulers, Islam as an official religion of the federation and special position of the Malays and the natives in Sabah and Sarawak whilst recalling that those provisions balance those special positions with safeguards to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the other communities in Malaysia which also includes their right to profess and practice their religions freely without being fear of any threats or being harmed by anybody. The legitimate interests of the non-Malays and non-Muslims would include, amongst others: a) Article 153 (9) says that business or trade cannot be solely reserved only for the Malays, b) Article 3 (1) says that the official religion of the federation is Islam BUT other religions are also allowed to be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the federation.
