Allow Anti-Racism march, Human Rights group tells BN government

Image
The renowned New York-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) has asked home minister and Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein to respect Malaysiaā€™s international and legal obligations and to allow this Sundayā€™s Solidarity March Against Racism to proceed. HRWā€™s Asia region deputy director, Phil Robertson, called on Hishammuddin to overturn a decision by the police force to deny a permit for the march in Kuala Lumpur, saying that the organizers on their part should ensure that the walk is carried out in an orderly and peaceful manner. The Malaysian governmentā€™s opposition to peaceful marches results in three big losers: the rights to free expression, freedom of association, and peaceful assembly. It is a very clear hypocrite, while the Umno-led BN federal government is advocating about 1Malaysia concept where everyone is "equal", it only allows violent protests and demonstrations organized by racist and extremist organizations particularly from its own, Perkasa and the other right-...

Minister says crime victims also not above law

Image
The minister in the prime minister's department in charge of law Datuk Nazri Aziz had recently said that the victim of the snatch theft who pursued one of the two robbers to his death might be charged in the court for murder. According to Nazri, the law is the law and victim would also have to face it as she had committed a "murder". So what is Nazri really trying to translate here? Is he saying that it is also wrong for a robbery victim to defend oneself? Is Nazri also trying to say that the victim had failed to call the police to assist her in going after those snatch thieves? Where were the police when she was robbed in daylight and needed help so desperately? She has to fend for herself when these robbers robbed her of er belongings and she also might have been killed if she were to be unlucky on that day. And whenever something had gone wrong, the police top brass are quick to give lame excuses that they are short of manpower, this and that, and so on. Well, you do n...

Chinese school says no to Utusan newspaper

Image
A Chinese primary school in Kuantan, Pahang, Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Semambu had decided to reject a contribution of Utusan Malaysia newspapers. The decision to reject the free distribution of Utusan to the school was made by both the school management and its board of governors citing that the Malay language newspaper was deemed unsuitable and misleading to the people and the young people, particularly the students. We praise the brave decision made by the school and its board in order to prevent such an irresponsible newspaper from being distributed to its students. This newspaper does not deserve to have readers at all Utusan Malaysia, well known for its racist and hate reports, statements and remarks in its daily circulation and the newspaper is a wholly-owned by Umno, the supremacist race-based political party which is also a dominant organization in the Barisan Nasional coalition. We also would like to urge other schools and organization to follow the brave example...

Shadow Cabinet: Najib an extreme liar

Image
During the recent speech made by the Umno president Najib Razak in a function, he mislead the public that Pakatan Rakyat has no shadow cabinet in the parliament at all and challenge the opposition front to form a shadow cabinet to rival the BN's cabinet ministers. Aside challenging Pakatan to have a shadow cabinet, Najib also said that in other developed countries, opposition blocs in parliament does have shadow cabinet to rival and check on each existing ministers' portfolios. Well, Najib did not tell the people the whole truth about this. It shows that he is an extreme liar both politically and in person. The first thing is, Pakatan Rakyat in fact already have a shadow cabinet in the parliament. Each of the cabinet portfolios are being represented by an MP each from PKR, DAP and PAS. Pakatan manages these portfolios via steering committees which fairly includes all its component parties in each cabinet portfolios. So, in actual fact the Pakatan Rakyat's shadow cabinet doe...

Racists and extremists are now supreme and above the law

Image
The racist and extremist in this country are reigning supreme and acting above the law. This is confirmed by the fact that the Umno-led BN federal government had failed to act against these dangerous and violent groups who are deemed threatening the national security of our nation. When there are various demonstrations and out of control rallies where most of them are without police permits, like the Perkasa's threat of violence, blood bath and so on, the Umno's cow-head demonstration to protest the construction of the Hindu temple, the no-permit racist and quite violent like demonstrations in Penang and Selangor accusing the state governments of abandoning the New Economic Policy and abolishing Malay rights, you know what did the home minister and Umno vice-president Datuk Hishammuddin Hussein said? He strongly defended these law breakers, violent extremists, racist monsters and said they have their every rights to demonstrate and show their displeasure if their voice are not ...

Shut up, Tun Abdullah!

Image
There is no need for the Penang state government to have a portfolio for non-Muslim affairs as the BN federal government has always looked after the welfare of non-Muslims, said former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Tun Abdullah, who is also the Kepala Batas MP in Penang, said Umno and the BN federal government had also always been "responsive" to the needs of non-Muslim communities. We urge Tun Abdullah to shut up! If you did not speak up, no one will know that you are a fool. By speaking up, you are indeed making a fool of yourself. During your short tenure as prime minister of this nation and as Umno president, you disappoint the entire nation and our people because your administration had deliberately failed to address the various interfaith issues and conflicts which are getting out of control during your era. It is also during your leadership, racism and extremism in Umno got from bad to worse and you even lose control of your own party's grassroots lead...

Chicken Tsu Koon chicks out again!

Image
When the Penang state government recently announced the creation of a state executive councillor portfolio in charge of non-Muslim religious affairs in the state, it immediately received counter-attacks from the BN component party leaders. The first one was from the recently installed Kedah Umno deputy chairman Datuk Muhkriz Mahathir who lambasted at Penang Chief Minister and DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng for insulting Islam via the creation of a non-Muslim religious affairs Exco portfolio. We should not blame Datuk Muhkriz for his narrow-mindedness because he is indeed suffering from some sort of severe brain damage. That is why he is already bald and he is also losing more hair than his father, former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Then, the chicken Gerakan president Dr Koh Tsu Koon chicks out again. He said that the non-Muslim Exco portfolio created by the Penang state government is a mere publicity stunt of Guan Eng. Well, we would like to remind that chicken Tsu Koon not to...

Improve service first before you take our money, BN government told

Image
According to transport minister and MCA secretary-general Datuk Kong Cho Ha, effective from 1 March 2011 the new system of traffic summonses payment shall be implemented. According to Datuk Kong again, motorist will not be slapped with demerit points if they settle the outstanding summonses within three months. Depending on the categories of the offense, motorist can save as much as RM150 for each summonses if they choose to pay within 15 days from the date of the summons that were issued. Looks like the transport minister is working on getting as much profit as possible for the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the traffic police. The BN federal government is just looking at profits by taking advantages on our people. You are giving us the rates and the number of days that we should settle our summons or else...! But you did not say how would the JPJ and traffic police ensure that these traffic summonses reach the motorist in time before certain abiding time expires? Are these new s...

Kedah state government did a great job

Image
By Gopal K. Anand It is most heartening to note that for the first time in history the state budget has become positive. The Pakatan-led state government under the humble and honest leadership of the Menteri Besar from PAS has proven its ability to rule Kedah state in a most responsible manner. We beseech God to shower the virtue and strength to the present state leadership so that the positive growth will continue and the people of Kedah will get better and better service from the government. The change in the state government in 2008 election, in no uncertain terms has brought to light the poor and irresponsible leadership the Umno-led BN government had done to the state economy. The people of Kedah should give greater support to PR in the forthcoming general elections, with greater number of seats in the state assembly so that Kedah will see a boom in its economy. It is the change in voters' support that has brought this good thing to Kedah. Umno-BN by right should appreciate th...

Very sick Umno

Image
One after another Umno members of parliament or state assemblymen passed away due to so many kinds of chronic sickness, like diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, high blood pressure and so on. And yet the Umno leaders are still blaming others for all those by-elections which they need to contest just some political parties had wanted to contest against them in the elections. Umno is full of leaders who are very sick. These leaders are can be seen taking regular medications, drugs, pain killers and depending on some machines just to keep themselves alive in order to cling on the party positions and their benefits. They all just can't let it go and wanted to hold on despite being too sick to do so. And as the result, we had so many by-elections, because all these sick Umno YBs just cannot tolerate the pressure anymore. There is no two thirds majority for them to enjoy their lives because they are being constantly watched and closely scrutinized by the opposition bloc. Umno is si...

BN is squeezing our money, asking us to change our lifestyles!

Image
One after another, budget after budget being announced by the Umno-led BN federal government and we have been seeing and hearing all sorts of names being labelled - 'peoples' budget, 'cost saving' budget, 'goodies' budget, '1Malaysia' budget and we are wondering what would Najib name in his next 2012 budget. We would recall that whenever our people and the nation is face with some uncertainties in economy and the possible of rising inflation continuing into the next decade, the prime minister Najib Razak who is also the finance minister himself had always 'remind' the people to change their lifestyle in face of the rising cost of living. Well, to us, we want to put this reminder back to the prime minister who is also the race-based Umno president and BN chairman himself and ask him to reexamine what caused the rising cost of living. He is being so irresponsible of passing the buck and burden over to the people. Actually, ordinary people like us d...

Buktikan yang kadar jenayah telah menurun

Image

Stop confusing the public, tourism minister told

Image
Following the incident at the Penang's famous tourist spot - the Batu Ferringhi Beach, where a water scooter driven by two Myanmar operators hit a Chinese tourist, the Penang state government had issued a temporary ban on the water scooter activities in the tourist beach. The temporary ban was announced by the Penang State Executive Councillor for Local Government and Traffic Management Chow Kon Yeow in order to prevent such incident from happening again. Aside, the temporary ban was also enforce to allow the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) to review the use of such machines in highly populated tourist beaches, to come up with some procedures that would govern the use of these machines and to ensure proper accountability on the owners and operators. Things, however were made from bad to worst when the federal tourism minister and MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen later announced that there is no need for the Penang state government to issue a temporary ban on the usage of...

Federal Constitution that Safeguards the Legitimate Rights and Interest of All Malaysians

Image
The provisions of the Federal Constitution are very clear. It confirmed the position of the Malay Rulers, Islam as an official religion of the federation and special position of the Malays and the natives in Sabah and Sarawak whilst recalling that those provisions balance those special positions with safeguards to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the other communities in Malaysia which also includes their right to profess and practice their religions freely without being fear of any threats or being harmed by anybody. The legitimate interests of the non-Malays and non-Muslims would include, amongst others: a) Article 153 (9) says that business or trade cannot be solely reserved only for the Malays, b) Article 3 (1) says that the official religion of the federation is Islam BUT other religions are also allowed to be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the federation. This means, the other communities too have their fundamental legitimate rights and interest here ...

Tee Keat says MCA president is immoral

Image
Looks like the Ong Tee Keat - Chua Soi Lek fight in the MCA is not yet over and it shall never cease unless one of them kick out the other from the MCA political sight. The former MCA president Ong Tee Keat had renewed his battle this morning by labelling the current MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek an immoral man following the exposure of his extra marital affairs and the DVD demonstrating him having sexual intercourse and oral sex with another woman. The war between these two factions in the MCA are expected to prolong as Tee Keat is seen to be fighting on despite his defeat of the party presidency to Dr Chua during the last party elections. As known to their supporters, both Tee Keat and Soi Lek are known to be hard headed and stubborn in their policy making and dictation in party affairs and neither one are likely to give way to another unless one of them is killed politically. And because Tee Keat is still fighting and shouldering on, will that pose a threat or a possibility of yet a...

Policemen slapped and robbed pregnant lady

Image
A pregnant lady, 36 year old Chow Soo Meng was slapped and robbed by plainclothes police officers who broke into her shop in Sungai Buloh and they then arrested her - for no reasons. Asides those, the policemen also took away several types of cigarettes, six bottles of hard liquor, mandarin oranges and three cartons of canned drinks as well as 30 mobile SIM cards from her shop and threatened her with another arrest if she escalates the complaint to the top. It was also understood that those policemen also confiscated her CCTV camera and recorder from her shop in order to erase all evidence related to their power abuse. That is why we need the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) to address such issue and cases related to the police brutality and power abuses. Unfortunately, the Umno-led BN federal government continue to turn a blind eye on such cases and ignores the people's call for the IPCMC to be set up in order to improve the organization of the polic...

The racist jargons of Dr Mahathir again!

Image
Recently former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad gave a speech and told the audience these words: "This country belongs to the Malay race. Peninsular Malaysia was known as Tanah Melayu but this cannot be said because it will be considered racist. We must be sincere and accept that the country is Tanah Melayu". So what is Dr Mahathir trying to prove now? What is his real intention of saying all these words? Are you telling us indirectly that all the non-Malays should leave this country if we did not like the various injustice, undemocratic and racist policies which are happening now in this nation? Dr Mahathir, let us all tell you the real truth! Umno is actually not Malay-based political party at all. Umno has no grounds to claim that it is a Malay-based party solely representing the Malay community in this nation. Why do we say that Umno is not a Malay-based political party? It is because the Umno membership not only consist of the Malays itself as members, but the said p...
