MCA EGM: Ong made a big mistake

MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat had made a very big mistake.

After being successfully elected as party president, Ong began demonstrating his iron fist and powerful personality by engineering the sacking and later suspension of party deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

Yes indeed, Ong had committed a big mistake which finally lead to his downfall at yesterday's party EGM when the central delegates posted their no-confidence vote against him.

Instead of focusing on strengthening the party and concentrating resolving the much debated PKFZ issue, Ong had moved his entire engergy to get rid of his deputy president by initiating a disciplinary action against him based on an outdated sex video scam and a withdrawn complaint.

If Ong is smart enough, he should have be patient and wait for the next party general assembly to topple his deputy via party election instead moving against him via disciplinary action. Anyway, Dr Chua was also elected by the delegates to be the party deputy president during the last party election where Ong was also elected party president.

Since Ong is faced with the vote of no-confidence from the delegates, will he step down from both his party presidency and ministerial position as promised? Let us observe his next move.
