Shadow Budget 2012: Pakatan ought to be given the space

As soon as Pakatan's shadow budget was released for public viewing, former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad without fully going into its contents, immediately condemned the opposition front's alternative budget as "empty pocket".
It clearly demonstrates that Dr Mahathir's immediate condemnation of the opposition's effort was too childish. Being an elderly statesman and former premier of this country, he should have been observing his characteristic properly as a retired top leader instead of still continuing his role like a some sort of de facto prime minister stepping over the current premier Najib Razak.
Pakatan's Shadow Budget 2012, although it is still shadowy, but it provides an alternative for the people in this country to view what the oppositions could offer should they were to come to power one day. Their plans and highlights ought to be studied and analyzed too, as they too already had a track record by now.
Just look at the DAP-led Penang state government, the PKR-led Selangor state government and the PAS-led Kedah state government as well as PAS' decades of rule in Kelantan, all shown prudent spending and savings in their budget. In fact, these Pakatan-ruled states had proven to the people that they indeed successfully increased the state revenues respectively.
The Shadow Budget again, is not just about giving more money to our people, but it is also focusing on getting things done properly and professionally in order to avoid further deficit to the expenditures, taking down on fund mismanagement, power abuse and corruptions in the administration, thus saving more money and increasing the government's revenue as well.
Therefore, Dr Mahathir's "empty pocket" statement against Pakatan is baseless, childish and unjust due to the fact that he just couldn't accept nor reading it thoroughly before making such an unjust and childish thoughts just because this document came from the opposition bench.
You had retired, so just retired for good and do not make a fool of yourself too frequent.
