A bullet to Prof Aziz from the sultan's man

Image
In the name of the sultan, a guy who claimed to be a die hard supporter and advocate of the sultan delivered an envelope with a bullet inside to Univerisiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA) Law Professor Dr Abdul Aziz Bari recently. The sender of the bullet in the name of the sultan indeed knew the whereabouts of the UIA constitutional expert and that is why the bullet went directly to his residence. What the sender didn't realize or should we better say the sender is indeed in a denial mode, that sending a bullet to Dr Aziz in the name and defense of the sultan is far more a greater insult to the constitutional monarch. By doing such thing, it is not protecting the sultan but accusing them of allowing such criminal act to be carried out. If it is treated politically, we could consider such act as political terrorism . Perhaps we could also consider this sender or whoever he is as an insane fanatic who had deliberately unable to accept the fact that the monarch in this country are indeed c...

Gambling with our money, EPF is outrageous

Image
We were gravely shocked to learned that based on the recent audit report, it has been found that the Employees Provident Fund or EPF has approved a large amount of about RM55.1 billion in loans which are not backed by government guarantees. The management of EPF is gambling with our money by giving out insecure loans. What we were informed that some of the loans given to debtors also had some standard operating procedures skipped just because these loans were disbursed to federal and state governments, government linked organizations, government linked companies (GLCs) and one incorporated body of the finance ministry. Just look at most of the government departments and agencies, all with blatant misadventures in their procurement and spending, like nobody's business. The costs of purchases were also mostly above that of the market value and some pricing and tenders were just simply being approved without even have the market price or value being analyzed. We all knew that under th...

Auditor's Report: Widespread power abuse and corruption

Image
The 2010 Auditor-General's report which was released in parliament recently for scrutiny, showed only some improvement in financial and procurement management in government departments and ministries. The bad ones are a still ranked highest. The Auditor-General's report also shows that most of the federal government departments and agencies had indeed continuously came up top in many blatant abuse of powers and over spending of their financial allocations, where most of these expenditures does not really benefit the people. So, what is the use of some government departments and agencies who managed to make some millions of Ringgit while the majority of the other departments, agencies or even government-linked companies (GLCs) were blatantly misusing and losing billions of Ringgit? The under performed sectors had outdo the well-performed ones. In this case what is the use of giving credit to some of these minority sectors who had managed to make it through when the majority ones...

Laporan Audit: Salahguna kuasa dan rasuah berterusan

Image

Gerakan masih tiada arah

Image

Gerakan seeks BN censure of Umno MP. Will they get it?

Image
Gerakan is asking the Barisan Nasional leadership to punish an Umno MP over a perceived insult made in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday. Gerakan's Simpang Renggam MP Liang Teck Meng told the press today that he had file a complaint to deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin about Kalabakan Umno MP Abdul Ghapur Sallehā€™s remarks regarding Gerakanā€™s attempt to have a presence in Sabah. Abdul Ghapur had earlier openly mentioned, ā€œGerakan has had its roots pulled out of the peninsula. And now it wants to settle in Sabah. The Chinese in Sabah say, ā€˜If the peninsular rejects Gerakan, then why does BN want to give that stupid Chinese man a chance to put candidates in Sabah?ā€™ā€ The Umno MP was referring to Gerakan President Koh Tsu Koon and the partyā€™s poor showing in the 2008 election. First of all, with Umno's strong dominance and the so-called "ketuanan" over the other parties within the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, will Gerakan be able to really censure the Umno MP effectivel...

Jabatan Perdana Menteri masih paling boros

Image

PMD still a big fat spender

Image
From the tabling of the Budget 2012 recently by the prime minister and first finance minister Najib Razak, it has shown that the ministry under his charge, the prime minister's department (PMD) is still the biggest spender in the federal government. Even though the PMD's budget has slimmed down from RM18.12 million to RM16.01 million, the expenditure is still considered the largest as funds allocated to the other ministries are not as high as RM16 million. The reason is, the PMD employs too many ministers and deputy ministers in its fold, and with more than 30 over large-scale departments and agencies under its care. Currently, there are five ministers and four deputy ministers in the PMD while there are about more than ten political secretaries at helm to serve their respective ministers. First of all, we really do not understand why does the PMD needs so many ministers and deputy ministers to run only one ministry (the PMD)? Apart from that, there are also about more than thi...

MCA beauties identified as models

Image
An active online forum user says at least four of them are professional models, and posts pictures of them together with those published by the media. The girls were widely photographed by the press during the MCA youth general assembly recently which featuring and portraying them as "a set of new generation of party members". However, when journalists attempted to approach them for exclusive interviews, they were quickly whisked away by some MCA leaders reasoning that they were new members and inexperience. And when the media started to discuss more on these MCA beauties for several days, the party leaders from various level gave different and conflicting view on these girls' status in the party's youth general assembly. A state leader first clarified that these girls were new members, still having their membership applications pending approval. Then another local party leader said that they were members from nationwide invited to the event as mere observers but when...

Bajet 2012 BN: Pembayar Cukai Dilupakan

Image

MCA young beauties in party assembly, are they fake?

Image
The MCA leadership has effectively prevented media eager to interview and speak to the six to seven mysterious young MCA t-shirt clad women who had hogged the headlines of last week's MCA youth general assembly after their photographs were published nationwide. And while and in aftermath of the MCA general assembly, the members of the media had also make several attempts and efforts to trace these so-called six to seven girls out of curiosity in order to know their reasons of "joining MCA" , but until now to no avail. We believed these MCA "young beauties" has been systematically moved away from public view in order to cover up their alleged rejuvenation in the party. So, why had the MCA prevented the media from interviewing nor talking to these girls, just only taking pictures? Why just only allowed to say "hi" and that's it, no more talking and these girls were quickly taken away into a special locked room? Are they covering up something? Acco...

BN's 2012 Budget: Taxpayers totally forgotten

Image
We are sure that everyone of us had seen and read the Barisan Nasional (BN) government's 2012 budget and its impact to our people. So, what do we get then? First thing in our mind here is there's actually nothing at all for us in our capacity as taxpayers or could we say a better word like, stakeholder of this country of ours. Yes, the handout was so and overly "generous" but in the end who is bearing all those costs and effects? Clearly, it is our people who has to bear all those? The perks and benefits of civil servants had increased so much given to the fact that the federal government has the highest number of employees in this country and yet they are still employing reasoning that they are still unable to cover their various "workloads" as claimed. And despite these civil servants has been getting more and more benefits, their productivity has never increase at all, based on the public feedback on their services and responses to public applications, re...

Pasir Mas MP sleeping in parliament

Image
The controversial Pasir Mas member of parliament Ibrahim Ali, who is also the president of the extremist Malay rights group, Perkasa was seen sleeping so soundly during the parliamentary session. Looks like Ibrahim is not serious at all in the parliamentary sitting. He failed to fulfill his duties and responsibilities as a member of parliament to serve the people and to provide feedback from the people nor having any interests in participating in the parliamentary debate. We hope the people would soon realize how ineffective this Ibrahim is.

ISA repeal: Demolish the Kamunting detention camp

Image
We all heard what the prime minister Najib Razak had announced earlier on the repeal of the Internal Security Act (ISA) of which will also be follow with repeals and review on several other laws and Acts which are threatening the freedom of our people. We have yet to see any concrete action on it till today. But instead we saw efforts by the home ministry to come up with any sets of laws and Act to replace the ISA which will be shown the exit door very soon. Will it be just like redressing the ISA? Probably it may happen. If the Umno-led BN government is truly sincere in repealing the ISA and the rest of the draconian laws, they must prove their sincerity and let the people know that they are serious about returning the freedom to our people. The first thing they should do is to free all the remaining ISA detainees without condition or any restricted order impose on them. Second, the Kamunting detention camp in Taiping, Perak which serves as an ISA detention facility should be demolish...

Shadow Budget 2012: Pakatan ought to be given the space

Image
Well, Pakatan Rakyat which consist of PKR, PAS and DAP had just released their Shadow Budget for 2012 recently in order to counter the upcoming BN's election Budget which is scheduled to be tabled this coming Friday. As soon as Pakatan's shadow budget was released for public viewing, former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad without fully going into its contents, immediately condemned the opposition front's alternative budget as "empty pocket". It clearly demonstrates that Dr Mahathir's immediate condemnation of the opposition's effort was too childish. Being an elderly statesman and former premier of this country, he should have been observing his characteristic properly as a retired top leader instead of still continuing his role like a some sort of de facto prime minister stepping over the current premier Najib Razak. Pakatan's Shadow Budget 2012, although it is still shadowy, but it provides an alternative for the people in this country to view what the ...

Attack on Tung Shin Hospital, police breached procedures

Image
The riot police broke their own standard operating procedures (SOP) by firing tear gas and water cannons when dispersing Bersih 2.0 rally marchers at the Tung Shin Hospital on 9th July, a Health Ministry investigation has concluded. Home ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Mahmood Adam said tonight that errant policemen would be referred to the policeā€™s disciplinary board. The investigation results concluded that there were unethical actions which were beyond the SOP of the police force during their errant crackdown on the said rally. It clearly shows that what had been stated and denied earlier by both the health minister and MCA deputy president Liow Tiong Lai and the home minister and Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein himself were proven to be baseless and political motivated aimed to cover-up the truth. The reported conducted by the home ministry officials themselves had in fact embarrassed the home minister himself who had earlier denied the police strong arm tactics against...

Desperate MCA says DAP is being too Chinese

Image
In an ironic attack against Pakatan Rakyat, MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek slammed the DAP for being a mono-ethnic party. In his presidential address at the 58th MCA Annual General Assembly yesterday, Chua said the DAP was hiding behind the guise of a multi-racial party. ā€œThe DAP will continue to package itself as a multi-racial party, hiding its true colours as a mono-ethnic party.ā€ It sounds like MCA and Chua is now overly desperate of wanting to take our people's attention away from the Barisan Nasional (BN)'s current ethnic-based component parties, like Umno, MCA and MIC by instead labelling the DAP of being too Chinese. Chua also accused DAP of only focusing its strength only a Chinese-based constituencies. It shows that he knows nothing about the many constituencies currently being held by DAP and he has been ill-advised on this matter too. First, DAP's strength lies not only in Chinese majority constituencies, but the party also represents many mixed-ethnic constituen...

Cubaan beli ADUN, ternyata BN seakan Banjingan Negara

Image
