"Apa lagi Cina mahu?", says frustrated Utusan

"Apa lagi Cina mahu?" or "What do the Chinese want?" This is what has been voiced out by the frustrated Utusan Malaysia's editorial today. Well, we actually didn't want anything from anyone at all.

What we are merely looking forward to, is a clean and trustworthy government, with no corruption; power abuse; mismanagement of public funds; treating our people with just and equal manner; having a clean electoral process; where extreme and racist policies are eliminated; a police force and anti-corruption enforcement that would take on those wrongdoers without having to look at their political affiliations; with no discriminations onto certain communities or ethnicities; no political violence; free and fair elections with practical democracy to be put on practice in this nation; and there are a lot more to say over here, but we would not list them out as it would take two to three articles to complete the lists.

Well, the BN government has been running this nation like their own for more than 55 years right now. How come didn't know what the people actually want? How come these BN leaders and politicians are still not aware of what are the people's expectation? Aren't these leaders and politicians experience enough to look into the plight and grievances of our people?

The first thing, immediately after the results of the 13th general elections (GE13) were announced, the prime minister, who is also the BN chairman and Umno president, Najib Razak, without any hesitation, quickly made a statement by marginalizing the Malaysian Chinese community for the BN's continuous reduced majority recently.

Then, the MCA president Chua Soi Lek (himself a Chinese man) continued on with Najib's tone by marginalising the Malaysian Chinese community for MCA's defeat and pledged to withdraw his Chinese-based party from participating in the next BN government. This means, all MCA leaders are not going to accept nor receive any more government positions, be it ministerial, deputy ministerial, state executive councillor, government-linked companies (GLC) chairmanship or directorship, GLC membership in the board of directors, municipal or city councillors, village development and security committee (JKKK) chairmanship or committee membership, hospital board of visitors' membership, ketua kampung, penghulu, ketua masyarakat and so on.

The actions taken by MCA since yesterday by not wanting to take any more roles within the government proves that they are looking forward for the marginalisation of the Chinese community even more. The blame only the Chinese community for their poor performance in the recently concluded GE13 by not wanting to acknowledge that there are a lots of negative elements within the BN government which had remained intact until today, despite all those so-called "transformation" programmes and efforts. That means, the BN leaders are not serious in tackling such issues within the administration but instead avenging their angers onto the Chinese community. What we are saying here, after the BN's poor showing, they marginalised the Chinese, by taking them out to the "firing squad".

It has been very clear that the BN refused to acknowledge what had went wrong within the government and their coalition, but instead prefer to marginalise the Chinese community by blaming them for their defeat, blaming them for the massive corruptions within the government, blaming them for all those injustice and discriminations, blaming the Chinese community for the political violence, blaming the Chinese for the rising racism and extremism within the government and the BN component parties and BN friendly NGOs particularly Umno, Perkasa, Pekida and so on. They have made so many mistakes, done so many sinful and wrongful things, and yet they are blaming others for being isolated in such way.

BN and MCA are both still in a denial mode. The like to view the urban establishments as Chinese-based, Chinese-majority, and Chinese-influenced. They had marginalised the Chinese community in such an unjust manner. They had forgotten that the urbanisation had also brought not only the Chinese, but also the Malays, Indians, Sikh and the other ethnicities into the cities, towns and industrialised areas because of jobs and better economic opportunities.

The BN coalition, particularly Umno and MCA must accept the facts that, it is not only the Chinese community are against them, had voted them out in many locations, but it is the majority of Malaysians who are now opposing them.

BN won again in this GE13, not because they are good, but because they used extremism and racism, to create fear amongst those living in the rural and isolated areas, telling the people that this country would be turned into another "China" if the Oppositions were to win in this GE13.

BN did not actually win the GE13 in a free and fair manner, they monopolised the mainstream media, the used dirty politics, they use cash to bribe, they manipulate the electoral lists and results, they brought in illegal immigrants to vote for them, and they are carrying out the worst of all methods in order to stay in power for as long as they can.

If Umno or MCA were to ask "Apa lagi Cina mahu?" again, we would say, give us back our country. This nation doesn't belongs to you alone.
