Why is the BN robbing our money?

What got to know in disgust that the BN government is now taking some RM1.5 million from our Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) savings in order to finance some sort of government-linked housing scheme for the "poor" and under qualified house buyers.

What does that all mean to us? Our concern is what we and our employers had contributed into our EPF savings from the decades of our hard working and earnings is now going into the hands of some company alleged to be managing this so-called housing scheme for the "poor".

What right does this BN government have to rob off our savings from our EPF accounts? Does the EPF Act states that at any time or occasion, the government has the right to withdraw our savings to finance some projects out there?

We could remember that when we wanted to withdraw our savings from the EPF to pay for our housing loans, reduce our medical bills, finance our education and as well as to support our own retirement, we saw all those hassles of filling up these forms and that forms, and coupled with the old-fashioned and primitive way of getting our thumb prints paste onto some forms, only then we are able to get our money.

But in just one day, the BN government uses its authority, we don't know under which clause in the EPF Act, to take away our money just like that.

Yes, financing and managing a housing scheme for the poor is something good, but why take our money? Most of the workers in this country who have EPF accounts are also not rich. They got all sorts of challenges daily in order to meet their ends and so does their families. Why not use the cash directly from the Treasury? Unless you are telling us that your Treasury is now almost emptied, and that is why the government has no other choice but to dig our some millions from the EPF.

The big problem here is all those corrupt BN leaders. They have been in the comfort zone for far too long, have not seen nor experience the various hardships of our people, their struggle to in an already high rise inflation in this country.

Just what give these BN politicians the right to take away our money that they didn't earn without the permission first from its owners (EPF account holders)? This is clearly stealing in an open day light. Or should we use a much softer definition: Misappropriation of public funds?

This BN government's style of managing the public funds has proven to be the worst one. And when we all can no more trust this government's handling of our retirement funds, we too fear the worst if the collective economic future is still in their hands.
