Of Umno's making on Jewish, Christians, Communist and Wahabi threats

First Umno would continuously accuse PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of being a Jewish or American agent, thus branding him as traitor to Islam, then six people including a member of parliament Dr Michael Jeyakumar from Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) were deliberately detained under the Emergency Ordinance for trying to revive communism.

Then Bersih 2.0 organizers were accused of being closely linked to foreign Christian organization aimed to establish a Christian state in Malaysia and now linking former Perlis Mufti and renown Islamic scholar Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin to the Wahabis which had close connection with the Saudi Arabia's terrorist network.

Whoever or anyone who openly disagree with Umno and BN are all being summarily labelled as Jewish, foreign Christian organization, communist and Wahabi terrorists. Well, they labelled many individuals as this and as that, all sorts of alleged "elements" that are "threatening" the national security of our nation.

First of all, until today, despite all those accusations and allegations made by pro-Umno medias, press and television channels, there are still no hard evidence to really prove that these stories are true or otherwise. We had demanded evidence to all these claims and accusations to back up their stories but nothing has surface so far.

And when everyone does not agree with Umno's so-called Malay supremacy or Ketuanan Melayu are either a Jew, a Christian, a Communist, a Wahabi and what more? Whenever there are people who dare stand up to speak up against the corrupt Umno dominated BN government, they will be labelled as a threat to our nation. Are these concern people really actually a threat to our nation or a threat to Umno's dominant rule?

Since their decline in aftermath of the 2008 general elections, Umno is beginning to be so afraid of its own making. Their worst enemy now is their own shadows and they are now having many kinds of bad dreams because of their misdeeds.

In front of Umno, everyone is their sworn enemy now: Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Ibans, Dayaks, Jews, Christians, Communists, Socialists, Democrats, Liberals, non-Muslim Bumiputras, moderate Malays and so on. It is just whoever they see in front of them are all enemies of the state at once.

Umno had turn this nation of ours into a land full of imaginations, imagining of enemies and threats to the "national security". We are wondering whether these Umno leaders would ever have a good night sleep soundly and having to enjoy what they eat.

In the end, what will they become of? Getting trapped in their own "sandiwaras".

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Singapore Malay daily teaches Mahathir about hardwork

The former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assumption that Malays in Singapore had failed and their neighbouring Malays should take lesson from their plight has not impressed a Singaporean daily. The republic's Malay daily Berita Harian in an editorial said Malay-Muslims in the republic state were successful and it was a result of their real efforts and hard work in line with the values of meritocracy, not a result of being spoon-fed. “We do not believe in being spoon-fed or being too dependent on the government - in other words, we do not have a crutch mentality,' wrote editor Guntor Sadali.
