Hospital attack: The health minister lied

Despite so many witnesses came forward to confirm that Tung Shin Hospital has been deliberately attacked by the police water cannons and tear gas, health minister and MCA deputy president Liow Tiong Lai continue to deny all those charges.

And he called on the members of the board of Tung Shin Hospital to come to his press conference to blatantly deny all those charges. Of course those hospital board members would have to follow his order, failing which the fate of the hospital would be in jeopardy. The hospital's operating license would be revoked if the board members were to refuse cooperation. Besides, various licences and permits to procure many types of medicines would also be revoked or not renewed, where all these restrictions would make the hospital impossible to continue operation, thus having to shut it down.

This is what Liow had done. The hospital board members were issued an ultimatum, either to follow his instruction or to face the music. So the directors had no choice but to follow Liow to the press conference to publicly deny public charges that the police attacked the hospital with water cannons and tear gas.

But this does not go down well with some of the hospital's doctors, staffs and patients, they came up together to voice their dissatisfaction over the way the issue has been handled, the way all those charges were being cowardly denied despite so many witnesses.

Liow still refuses to reveal the truth until today despite so many evidence being produced via online medias and news portals and perhaps later he would then claim that all those pictures showing the police attacking the hospital were superimposed via computer.

Go ahead, continue to cover-up. Just like an ostrich trying to run away from its predators by hiding its head inside the ground.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Singapore Malay daily teaches Mahathir about hardwork

The former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assumption that Malays in Singapore had failed and their neighbouring Malays should take lesson from their plight has not impressed a Singaporean daily.
