Hospital attack: Police now says yes but not so...

After tremendous public pressure for so many days, only then the police announced today that its personnel really did fired tear gas and chemical based water cannons into the Tung Shin Hospital during the recently concluded Bersih 2.0 rally.

However, the police's admission on the hospital attack was merely a "by the side" noting and not a full yes on it. This means, the police top brass were not sincere enough in telling the people the truth.

Prior to today's announcement, the police force had continuously denied any involvement of its personnel in attacking the hospital with tear gas and chemical based water cannon citing that it was merely passing by the hospital's front compound. After a lots of criticisms from the human rights groups and the public only then the police gave in reluctantly and said that they would conduct an investigation to verify the case.

But despite so many pictures of evidence showing that the hospital was deliberately attacked directly with these threatening weapons, the police halfheartedly admitted and refused to apologize over its involvement in trespassing the hospital compound but saying that it happened only "by the side", meaning that it is too far away and there's no way that it would affect the hospital and its patients.

Come on! Even the doctors, staffs and patients of the hospital witnessed the event that took place on that day. And the smoke that came from the tear gas fired into the hospital compound also did affect many patients inside there.

A lie is a lie and they had in fact lied in order to cover up. However, the whole world had seen many of the video footage showing the attack on the hospital and the scenes were very clear.

So, admit it and apologize. You guilt has been proven!

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Singapore Malay daily teaches Mahathir about hardwork

The former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assumption that Malays in Singapore had failed and their neighbouring Malays should take lesson from their plight has not impressed a Singaporean daily.
